Rangers Closing In On Deal For Ex-Flying Eagles Star Oforboh

Rangers have held talks with Bournemouth over midfielder Nnamdi Oforboh, reports Completesports.com.

Oforboh is out of contract in the summer and Rangers are seeking to secure him on a pre-contract.

The Gers also faces English competition for Ofoborh, who is being tracked by Charlton boss Lee Bowyer.

The Nigerian international made his Cherries debut last September, and Bowyer fears he could be priced out of a deal this month.

Rangers have already made Aberdeen aware of their intention to sign Scott Wright on a pre-contract this summer.

But the arrangement could still be brought forward to allow the attacker to play his part in the final stages of the Premiership title race.

  • I pray this move materialises. I watched Nathan Oforbor play as a centre back for Bournemouth against Manchester City in September 2020 in the EFL.

He performed his duties competently with sharpness and fluidity. His performances on the night caught the eye.

Although he is predominantly a centre midfielder by trade, feelers from Rangers suggest that Coach Stephen Gerrard is looking to utilize him as a centre defender if the transfer sees the light of day.

According to hitc.com, Rangers centre-back George Edmundson – who has struggled for game time – would go further down the pecking order and might have to look for a new club if Rangers sign Oforbor.

A Nigeria ex-Youth international, Nathan Oforbor will be looking to be in the fray for Super Eagles consideration once he starts playing more regularly in club football.

Unfortunately, he is not seeing much action in Bournemouth; he will be expected to play more games if he moves to Scotland.

He is a combative midfielder with an eye for picking out decent passes. He is fluid and puts himself about. He is also versatile.

It will be great if the transfer goes ahead.
