CAFCC: Rangers Edge Bantu Over Two Legs To Reach Group Stages

Nigeria’s representative in the 2018/19 CAF Confederation Cup competition, Enugu Rangers have qualified for the group stage of the competition, reports Completesports.com.


It’s the first time in 15 years that the former Nigeria Professional Football League champions will be featuring in the group stages of the competition.

 The last time Enugu Rangers featured in this stage of the competition was in 2004.


The Flying Antelopes defeated Bantu FC of Lesotho 2-1 in the second leg of the playoffs at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium to advance 4-2 on aggregate.


Lehlohpnolo Fothoane gave the visitors, Bantu FC of Lesotho the lead in the 13th minute but six minutes later Ajani Ibrahim equalised for the Flying Antelopes.


A minute later, Godwin Aguda made it 2-1 for Rangers.


Enugu Rangers will know their group opponents on Monday when the draw is conducted in Cairo, Egypt.
