Rangers To Start Concentration Camping In Abakaliki Ahead New Season

Enugu Rangers will embark on a closed-door concentration camping in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, next week, to parepare for the 2019/20 NPFL season, an official has informed Completesports.com.

Neros Stadium, Nanka, in Anambra state was thought to be the Coal City Flying Antelopes’ destination in their bid to concentrate and prepare well for their 2019/2020 campaign in the domestic and continental scenes.

But an official poured dismissed suggestions that Neros Stadium could be their destination, saying the private facility owned by pharmacist and philanthropist, Poly Emenike, MON, has never surfaced on their consideration list.

“We’ll travel for our preseason next week,” an official of the seven time Nigeria champions said on Friday.

“That’s before the weekend of next week. And Abakaliki is our initial choice and as I speak with you, that has not changed.

“Nanka, I don’t know about that, it has not come to consideration, at least to the best of my knowledge.

“Though nothing is permanent in life, nothing is already cast on iron. Which means between now and next week anything could still happen. That’s life, but for now, no. Abakaliki is the one on our mind”.

Abakaliki in Ebonyi State is less than an hour journey from Enugu.
The city has a beautiful stadium with natural grass which hosted last year’s South East/South South Preseason Football Tournament.

Rangers emerged tops in last season’s abridged NPFL Group A, but finished third in the six-team Championship Play-offs in Lagos to book a ticket for the 2019/2020 CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
