Rangnick: Manchester United Need A New Striker

Manchester United interim head coach Ralf Rangnick insists that the Red Devils need a new striker.

United sent Anthony Martial on loan to Spanish club Sevilla last month and still have Cristiano Ronaldo and Edison Cavani at their disposal.

Ronaldo and Cavani, who have scored 16 goals in all competitions between them this season could however leave the Old Trafford this summer.

Cavani’s contract will end this summer, while Ronaldo is also alleged to have planned talks with agent Jorge Mendes over a possible exit.

The Red Devils continue to be linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland, and Rangnick has now addressed Man United’s need for a new number nine.

“This is obvious. Edinson’s contract is running out in the summer and the club needs the best possible centre-forward. I think everyone is aware of that,” Rangnick told a press conference on Saturday.
