Burnley boss Sean Dyche is keen to bring in a new left-back this summer but Rapid Vienna’s Boli Mbombo is not a target. Dyche is keen to strengthen his options in that position to provide competition for Charlie Taylor.
Reports emerged earlier this week claiming Belgian full-back Mbombo, who is Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku’s cousin, was under consideration.
However, the Burnley Express say the £3million-rated 23-year-old is not a target and the Turf Moor club are looking elsewhere for a new left-back this summer.
The Clarets are believed to have sent scouts to watch Rapid Vienna in action last term, which led to the claims of interest in Mbombo, although it remains unclear which of the Austrian club’s players they were keeping tabs on.
