Former Bolton Wanderers striker Kevin Nolan believes David Raya has taken Arsenal to another level thanks to his impressive performance in goal.
Raya completed a permanent move to Arsenal from Brentford after performing well on loan last season.
This season has not been an exception as he is one of the reasons Mikel Arteta’s side remain unbeaten in all competitions.
The 29-year-old has forged a fantastic partnership with the Arsenal defenders at the back and will be a key player for the club as they aim to win their first Premier League title since 2004.
“When Arsenal bought David Raya, everyone went ‘Why are they buying him?’ Because Ramsdale had a great season but what he has done is he has made them better,” said Nolan on BBC Sport.
“He has put Arsenal closer to Man City and now you look at him, he is a complete keeper. He makes really good saves, he can play with his feet.
“He is the one now who you look at and thinking who are your top two keepers. I always thought Alisson. Obviously Ederson at Man City, and then you have got Raya. He has taken Arsenal to another level.”
Meanwhile, Arsenal are in third spot on the log thanks to a hard-fought 4-2 win against Leicester City at the Emirates on Saturday.
After first half goals from Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard had given Arsenal a 2-0 lead, Leicester fought back to level the score thanks to a James Justin double.
However, a Wilfred Ndidi own goal and Kai Havertz finish, earned Arsenal the three points and saw them return to winning ways after the 2-2 draw against Manchester City at the Etihad last Sunday.
