Redknapp Talks Up Iheanacho, Vardy Partnership

Jamie Redknapp was full of praise for the “unlikely” Leicester City strike partnership of Jamie Vardy and Kelechi Iheanacho following their impressive 5-0 win against Sheffield United on Sunday.

Vardy assisted Iheanacho for two of his goals at the King Power Stadium.

Leicester are without the injured Harvey Barnes and James Maddison, but Vardy and Iheanacho caused the Blades plenty of problems.

“When we talk about Leicester, we talk about Barnes, Maddison, but they had everyting in this attack. Great football,”Redknapp told Sky Sports.

“I love this little play by Youri Tielemans, he just opens up his body and reverses a ball into Ayoze Perez – that’s a James Maddison pass, if you like – and straight away you are in behind the defence. It is a lovely cross by Vardy.

“Iheanacho and Vardy together is an unlikely partnership but they have got 23 (goals) in 23 starts together, it is phenomenal really. They have caused the back three of Sheffield United all sorts of problems.”

The manager never gave Kelecbi the opportunity for a long time, and he never complained.

I love the picture of this embrace, it says a lot. Well done, Vardy, you are simply amazing, pushing your second to lime light. That is all Kele needs, coaches and players that believes in him, then, he will take the world by storm. It is in him.

Kelechi…If you like, no use this opportunity of your new found form to get the hell away from Rodgers and LCFC. You see what constant run of games is doing to you thanks to injuries to some regulars….? Your speed and determination to attack the ball has increased, even your big belle don come down small, your form is improving.
Let me hear you are not going to a club where you will be 1st choice at the end of this season. Na your footballing peak you dey approach dey go so.

Listen to me Dr.Drey, it is easy to say than to do.

Do you think Kelechi is happy with his performances?

These players have no say about which positions they have to play in each game.

This is why I said you still have a lot to improve on in terms of football.

There’s something we call time in life.

Life is a challenge that means, quitter never win and the winners never quit.

Hmmm. Look young man, don’t pray for anyone to have a problem because everything has is own time.

You may think you know it all but I can tell you today that you know nothing about football or life in general.

Just count yourself lucky and be humble always.

Naco is a fighter and he will continue fighting for more success.

Congratulations to Kelechi. I’m proud of you.

That is my own advice for you today my pikin. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!

Hahahhahaha…na you sabi football and life in general pass …..LMAO. Congratulation omode ise..! keep on deceiving yourself. I no know who dey folo you drag 1st position before….LMAO. I can see something about me intimidates you.

Dont worry…..by the time Barnes and Maddison return from injury, Iheanacho will go and continue is fight on the bench. When it is summer, he should not leave for a club that will make him undisputed no 1 striker.

        • @Dr Drey You don’t know football I have been saying so for the longest time. Look Rodgers is the reason Kelechi got his Grove back I have been saying that for the last 2 years but, you nor dey hear word. So Where must he go to where????.

Let me tell you Behind Kloop and Pep. Rodgers is the best Manager in the Prem and Brings out the best in young players he believes in followed by Wolves coach . Just look at what Rodgers does with Harvey Barnes and a Leicester City team that quite frankly looked very average before Rodgers took over. If Iheanacho goes anywhere else he may not do as well. I have always said when Rodgers Realises that Iheanacho’s best position is behind Vardy he will use him more often. All it needed was the unfortunate Injury to Harvey Barnes as the saying goes One man’s Misfortune is another mans blessing. So in concluding you saying Iheanacho should Run far from rodgers shows me you know absolutely nothing about ball. Infact this Hattrick has put Iheanacho Back on rodgers Radar.

I was reading your post and thought you would say something along the lines of “Kelechi…If you like, no use this opportunity of your new found form to stamp your place in LCFC” yet once again you never fail to amaze me in your stupid reasoning.

Nigerians Don’t give up we fight for our place in an institution. I told you you reason like someone from another country

Had Barnes and Madison not crocked Nacho would have been wasting on the bench with all this talent and football fans would think he’s not good enough.
I do not think Vardy is a better striker but the consistency he has got has kept his form in flames and Nacho’s bench role has not done his form any good.
Match rustiness was the reason he is never at his best when called upon but no thanks to injury to a couple of regular forwards which paved way for regular football and we can see now he’s up to speed and at a maximum level. That is what you get playing 80minutes plus football which he would never dream of with a full squad.
The big question now is what happens when Barnes and Maddie returns from injury? Maddie is a regular English footballer for Leicester and one of the most creative player in the premiership.Would Nacho go back to his bench role? because I do not see Vardy getting dropped because he’s still playing well despite a run of poor form in front of goal.It is interesting to see what happens after the international break when most of the crocked players are back and open for selection.

  • Nice one seeing vardy working so hard to get the balls to kelechi to score. Thats selflessness and teamwork. Vardy is a real team player. Despite his goal drought, he still prefers to play for the team and not for himself. All kelechi needs to produce this kind of form regularly is regular playing time and if his coach cant guarantee that when barnes and maddison returns he should let kelechi move on. But I doubt kele will want to leave now, since they stand a chance of qualifying for next season’s champions league.
Good goals from kelechi. Keep it up.

Well he can’t leave anyway in the deep end of the season until summer when the transfer windows is open again for the new season.
However, there’s a buy back clause in his contact by his former employers Manchester city,it’s interesting to see what happens at the end of the season. As you all know Sergio Aguero is ageing and no longer a predator in front of goal.Gabriel Jesus is just the same player we have always known, there’s a chance Manchester city may exercise the buy back clause.
A move back to city won’t be a bad idea supposing they let go one of their current strikers and have a contract agreement with Nacho for regular football otherwise Nacho should remain at Leicester.
The good thing that would come with a move to city is the guarantee or possibilities of winning trophies.I know Nacho loves Leicester city,he has been patient during difficult times and it seems he is getting the reward of his sacrifices and patient. His time has come things would never be the same as it used to,his stock has risen and Rodgers wouldn’t treat him like some low squad member anymore otherwise he would lose a player they may regret to have lost for a very long time.
Chelsea today wish they had kept De Bruyne and Salah a little longer,I hope it’s not the case for Leicester with our own Kelechi Iheanacho.
