New signing Sepp van den Berg will be among 16 players arriving for the start of pre-season training for Liverpool on Saturday. The Reds begin their preparations for the new season this weekend and have released a list of 16 players who will report to the club’s Melwood training ground.
Van den Berg will be among them after his recent move from Dutch side PEC Zwolle, while senior first-team players James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Fabinho, Adam Lallana and Joel Matip are also set to report for duty. Plenty of Liverpool’s international stars are still in action for their countries this summer, including Mohamed Salah (Egypt) and Sadio Mane (Senegal) at the Africa Nations Cup, while Roberto Firmino and Alisson Becker (Brazil) are preparing for the Copa America final against Peru on Sunday.

England internationals Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold have been given extra time off after they featured in the Nations League finals last month, while several players who were out on loan last season will join up, with doubts over their futures hanging over their heads. Nathaniel Clyne, who spent the second half of last term at Bournemouth, is on the list of 16, as is Ryan Kent, who impressed at Rangers last season, along with Harry Wilson, who starred for Derby in the Championship.
