Everton say they are hopeful of wrapping up a permanent deal for Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma during the summer transfer window. The France international impressed while on loan with the Toffees last season, so it is no surprise they are keen to keep him for next season and way beyond.
The transfer ban is an issue and Frank Lampard has a decision to make, but it would appear Everton boss Marco Silva is confident of getting a deal done. “I am hopeful,” Silva said when asked about the Toffees’ chances of signing Zouma. “I think I am hopeful like all of our fans are but I have to tell you that we have different solutions because we cannot just have one solution.

“I am hopeful and if we can give our fans this fantastic feeling it will be key. But, if not, we have to go in a different way but it is part of the market, part of creating a squad. After that position we have three or four more to strengthen.” Lampard has a decision to make on a number of players in the coming weeks and Zouma is clearly one of them as the Toffees look to wrap up a quick deal.
