Rodgers Eyes Defender Reunion

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers is targeting a reunion with Celtic defender Kieran Tierney at the King Power Stadium next season.

It was only a matter of time before Rodgers was linked with a raid on his former club, and reports are rife suggesting that an approach for Tierney will happen over the summer.

The 21-year-old has been a revelation for Celtic and Rodgers would see him as the perfect replacement for Ben Chilwell, who is being heavily linked with a switch to Manchester City.

Borussia Dortmund are also keen after sending scouts to keep tabs on loan star Jeremy Toljan at Parkhead. However Tierney has caught the eye and BVB could make their own move at the end of the season.

The £25million-rated Tierney says he is well aware of all the speculation regards Leicester, but says he is not concerned. “It’s natural that he will be linked with players from his old club but it’s nothing I know of,” he said.

“I’ve been on the end of speculation for a few transfer windows so it’s nothing different for me. It doesn’t take my mind off Celtic.”
