Brendan Rodgers admits the Premier League title is Liverpool’s to lose but he said his Leicester City side will be “ready to pounce” in case of a slip-up.
Liverpool are heavy favourites to clinch their first domestic crown in 30 years, Jurgen Klopp’s side sitting eight points clear of second-placed City having dropped just two points from the opening 16 games.
Rodgers’ men have put together a club-record run of eight consecutive top-flight victories to cling on to the coattails of the runaway Reds, and ahead of his side’s game against Norwich at the King Power Stadium on Saturday, he has urged his players to keep pace.
However, he rejected suggestions that the busy Christmas period, in which City host Liverpool on Boxing Day, is decisive.

“I never get carried away,” Rodgers said. “People talk about ‘make or break’ around this time but it’s not really. You may lose some games, or even win the games, but it doesn’t guarantee you later on. Let’s see where we are with 10 games to go.
“Up until that point, you focus on yourself.
“Liverpool have got everything there, they are eight points clear and have been consistently outstanding over the last couple of seasons. They’ve lost one league game in 18 months.
“Everything is there for them. I think every other team behind has got to try and be close enough that if anything happens, you’re ready to pounce. But until that [point], you’ve got to focus on your own game and look to keep developing.”

No doubt, Leicester City has been in good form recently but they can’t honestly challenge Liverpool for the title. I’m not sure they have what it takes.
