Rohr Eager to See Maja’s Versatility, Improvement Bolster Super Eagles’ Attack

Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr has hailed the versatility of Bordeaux forward, Josh Maja, and he believes that it will be a good thing for the Nigerian national team, Completesports.com reports.

Maja has so far scored five goals and weighed in with two assists in 15 Ligue 1 appearances for Bordeaux this season, but the highlight of his performances came a few weeks ago.

On that very occasion, the 20-year-old recorded his first hat-trick for club and country after striking thrice in Bordeaux’s 6-0 decimation of Nimes in a French top-flight game.

Maja, the unfamiliar Nigerian hero put Bordeaux two goals up in the space of 37 minutes before going on to complete his treble eight minutes into the second half.

Rohr thereafter hailed Maja, saying: “He was on our list of players to watch, he was already attracting our attention although he was evolving in League One because our collaborators were studying it with attention from England.

Rohr added: “It’s no coincidence, he has seized his chance with the opportunities he got and his hat-trick is a confirmation of his progression.

“And when he arrived in Bordeaux, he was not alone: there was another Nigerian, Samuel Kalu. So, his integration was easy and he was surrounded by good staff.

“It could only move in the right direction. Above all he is quite versatile, on the offensive side, he can play at the three front positions in a system with two or three attackers,” Rohr concluded.

I will advise NFF to talk to Mr. Rohr to change his attitude. Is it not Maja he invited to Eagles camp?

Our players are professionals and they are ready to give their very best to make Nigeria proud.

You will invited players and you will put them on the bench, why did you invited them in the first place ba?

Coach Rohr have been doing this since he started coaching the team, they are not kids now. Chai.

Is not by false, NFF should please call his attention to that.

Oga Rohr is now president Buhari. If we talk now, his fan will attack us but ah, I don’t care if he knows that he can’t give us the best, enough of this and NFF should think twice before signing is new contract.

This is really annoying. He said Okoye is too young but he man the post against Brazil. What else do you want?

I am saying this before 2020. I want to see new coach Rohr. New year, new system. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!

You are very correct omo9ja this this rohr is a total madman and I just hope he doesn’t get that new contract signing but I still wish Nigeria doesn’t employ a home based coach I just pray that Nigeria should find another foreign world class coach cause with this rohr the guy just doesn’t know anything, how would you call a Nigeria eligible player to the national team and instead of capping him you will keep him on the bench and then using players who are already Nigerian without not even bearing it in mind that if Nigeria don’t cap the talent Nigeria will loose the talent
this foolish goat who calls himself rohr is the same idiot who has make Nigeria lost FIKAYO TOMMORI to England because when tomori was asked about his international future tomori said that he is ready to play for any of the three national team in which he is eligible to which are Nigeria, Canada and England, fikayo tomori even stated further that he is ready for any of the national team who hands him call up,then when rohr was told by Nff to call tomori ahead of the friendlies and afcon qualifier against Brazil, ukraine. ,Benin and Lesotho guess what the bastard said, he said that FIKAYO TOMMORI was not ready to discuss about his international future yet, only you heard someone say that he is ready to play for any of the national team who hands him call up and yet you are still saying that the person is not ready to discuss about his international future yet does that not prove rohr is a big fool, however the smart England hands tomori callup and capped him, well let me ask Mr rorh and rohr followers and supporters this question why did tomori wasn’t ready to discuss about his international future yet when England handed him call up, am waiting for answer ooo from rohrs supporters please answer me because I know after this my post some foolish rohr supporters will just blindly come here and start commenting rubbish against me saying I don’t like rohr or I don’t like the Nff without even reading and thinking what am saying,or whether they are so extremely blind or not reasonable I don’t know, ok i know some of rohr supporters will go that player hasn’t switched allegiance yet then let me tell you Joe aribo allegiance switching was done in a week and the main point is that even if a player is eligible to play for a national team and has not switched allegiance yet you can call still call him/her for friendlies, handling him call up to a friendly will give him desire to even be proud of the colours, handling him call up is just the main thing just like that friendly amaju pinnick organized in 2017 in Nigeria training camp abroad calling all Nigeria eligible u20 players to play in a friendly in Nigeria colours in abroad, but it wasn’t so to rohr because he had a empty head,Nigeria simply had friendlies against ukraine and Brazil which was simply a chance to snatch tomori ahead of England and instead rohr said that tomori is not ready to discuss about his international future yet what a stupidity and shame and now Nigeria has lost another golden gem of a talent to England,if you are watching football and Chelsea matches to be specified on a current basis you will know tomori is a real gem in which Nigeria has loose again to England, Nigeria had a chance to hand tomori call up and instead rohr threw it away in a silly way,i just wonder when the time he thinks tomori is ready to discuss about his international future yet will come now that tomori is a England player, think or say it how you want but Nigeria has lost another gem to England take it or leave it, well to rohr supporters you heard what I said read and think before you comment against someone and don’t just come here writing rubbish against us instead of reading and thinking what we are saying against rohr before commenting,I will say it time and again to rohrs supporters I don’t see anything in rohr i don’t know why you guys his supporters are carrying as if he is a legend or has done one legendary stuff let me tell you if you think rohr is very good let Nigeria employ another coach and not a home based coach but a top foreign coach for the squad the super eagles have now then you will know rohr is nothing.

I pray my wish come true and that Nigeria should employ another foreign coach this day .amen.

Good luck to the super eagles wish you all the best

This your comment just shows your level of football knowledge. You want Rohr to invite an ineligible player, who had played u20 world cup for England without Fifa clearance? For your information Joe Aribo had never played for any country at any level before he played for Nigeria. Let assumed that Rohr lied about talking to Tomori, did ola aina, omeruo, and efe Ambrose also lied about convincing the young man to play for Nigeria? Honestly some people need football tutoring.

Destitute about wat do you call yourself….Hehehehe…how do you feel now that you’ve just disgraced yourself with this bunch of crap u just reeled out…like seriously….

“…let me tell you Joe aribo allegiance switching was done in a week…” LMAO.

I used to think omo9ja was the biggest lair ever, I didn’t know there’s another who can make Lucifer- the father of lies Jealous.

Pls where did you get that info…pls share it…LMAO bcos it deserves to feature in Guinness book of world records for 2019…. Allegiance Switch completed in one week…!!! Wonderful..! LMAO….and yet you call someone else foolish…??? Lol.
Pls go look in d mirror and see foolishness in flesh and blood.

        1. A player who has never played for another country at any level doesn’t require an allegiance switch

        2. It is practically impossible to process allegiance switches per FIFA regulations in 1 week. The earliest know so far is 4 months.

        3. A player who has played competitively, even for 1min for one nation before at any level cannot play for any other nation even in a friendly unless his international switch procedures have been completed and approved by FIFA. Any country that violates this will be deemed to have featured an ineligible player and hence forfeit the match and loose all points (if competitive match) or the friendly match will be deleted from FIFA records and relegated to the status of novelty match.

So how you expect Tomori to be invited to the eagles given all these circumstances is a reflection of how dead your intellect is.

So clap for yourself for displaying such stark ignorance in public. LMAO

We have moved on from Tomori….you can keep ranting about a player who explicitly stated he wasn’t interested in playing for Nigeria…!

Read the links below, inform your ignorance and stop coming here to disgrace yourself.

You are the one who should research well and buy some sense from wherever before coming here to post blind arguments.Lolz

Birds of the same feather truly flock together indeed…like omo9ja like destitute. Lolz

JOSH MAJA. Fine player, he is. I like how Rohr is letting him know that his performances of late have not gone unnoticed. That will hopefully encourage Maja to keep on pushing. With Maja, Osimhen, Dessers, Sadiq and Iheanacho all doing very well, Rohr is spoilt for choice. If we have this kind of competition for jerseys in the midfield, defense, and goalkeeping departments, the team will be better for it!

  • Sometimes people forget the qualities of the materials rohr has under him before clamouring for another. With Eking, Awaziem, Ajayi, Omeruo even Balogun. Who says we are that bad defensively?

Nigeria is bless, we have lots of talented players in the country and outside the Nation. I pray, when it comes to selections for the right players, to represent our country, choosing the right person is big problem. We have to put all necessary measures in place, it is not about name of the players, but what the players can offer. Josh Maja is good player no doubt about it, but when it come to playing for Nigeria, will he give 110%? Our Nation want the best players we can lay our hands on outside the country and within our professional and local league, but can we give these players what other Nations offered their own players?
We can be one of the best football Nation, having best of the best players representing in any football tournament. We got to play this game in the same way some of best football Nation are playing it. By grace of God we will get it right if we play it right.
