Super Eagles must be at their best in order to beat their Sierra Leone counterparts, Leone Stars, over the two legs of their 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches, head coach Gernot Rohr has told Completesports.com
The first of the encounters come up on Friday, November 13 at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City, while the reverse fixture will hold at the National Stadium Freetown on Tuesday, November 17.
“I have 23 fit players before the weekend matches and the boys have the quality and experience to win both games, but that is if they give the both games their best shot. We shall not underrate the Leone Stars as they are known, irrespective of the first leg result” Rohr told Completesports.com.
“We want to win both legs and that means the boys must take the games very seriously like they always do to boost our qualification for AFCON. I don’t know much about Sierra Leone, but we shall work with little we have about them,” the German stated.
Rohr also divulged that he expects all the 23 players to be available for full training on Tuesday pointing out that two days training might not be enough to train and get ready, but that the player have to make use of understanding of themselves to get a good result.
