Rohr: ‘Excellent Finisher ‘ Osimhen Will Dominate Serie A

Rohr: ‘Excellent Finisher ‘ Osimhen Will Dominate Serie A

Nigeria head coach Gernot Rohr has backed Victor Osimhen to make a big impact at Serie A club Napoli, reports Completesports.com.

Osimhen moved to Napoli from Ligue 1 club Lille in July.

The 21-year-old has already hit the ground running in his new environment with six goals and one assist in two pre-season games.

Rohr believes the young striker has what it takes to be a success at Napoli.

“Victor Osimhen is a great player, he is very important to us and he will be even more so thanks to the experience that he will get in a top club like Napoli. Despite his young age, he has many qualities and will show them in Italy,”Rohr told SSC Napoli News.

“Osimhen is not like Drogba yet, but he could become so by working hard to enhance his talents. He is intelligent and prepared, he knows how to adapt to his teammates and systems. He has body and speed, and above all he’s an excellent finisher.”

Rohr also insists Osimhen has the right mentality to cope with racism issue in Italy.

“Racism? I don’t think this will be a problem for Victor (Osimhen). He has already lived through experiences in France, Germany and Belgium, where there have been difficult situations to overcome. He is very strong mentally.”

There is what is known end as “white thrash”. Those who are unaware of this are unduly troubled by racist attacks. Of courses there are also black thrash if I may coin such a term.

Recently a white bloke tried to insulted me.
    “Where do you come from?”
“Didn’t you see my skin? I’m a Nigerian. One in four black men in the world is a Nigerian.”
    “What a pity,” he sneered.
“Pity for what” I cut back. I almost lost it. “In case you don’t know, Nigerians don’t go for menial jobs. We go for the top, top jobs: architects, engineers, managers…but we don’t look down on others.”
The guy stared at me and walked away.

  • Am very happy to hear from my coachee I love ur spirit mr Rohr.he is very proud of his striker

  • Ako Amadi 4 years ago

If Rohr knew Osimen was such a great striker why did he not take him to the World Cup? Why did he leave him on the bench at AFCON ?

    • Sammy 4 years ago

You do realize he barely played any games at Wolfsburg, and only joined Chaleroi after the 2018 World Cup?

Pray tell, which of the strikers we took to the world cup would you have dropped for a young inexperienced striker who neither played consistently nor scored for his club in one year prior to a SENIOR MEN’S FIFA WORLD CUP?

How many games did Osimhen play before WC…..dont let your hate for Rohr cloud your judgement

    • Another “African Guardiola” detected

  • Thank you @Ako Amadi My thoughts exactly Rohr’s over reliance on Ighalo cost us that tournament and has cost us in the World Cup as well. I will mention Osimhen’s Injury just before the Madagascar game cost him some game time at the AFCON however when he gained Fitness just before the Cameroon game he should have been integrated immediately not, Using him in a Dead Rubber Game against Tunisia what an insult. That’s why I say we need a improved coach when it comes to decision making.

  • JimmyBall 4 years ago

… Don’t mind Rohr. See how he was humbled by Madagascar’s coach superior tactics… Singing osimhens praises now yet he could not give the guy meaningful minutes at AFCON 2019 despite proving all doubters wrong at SC Cherloroi. Even when he took Simmy Nwankwo to World Cup, it was It was Ighalo and Iheanacho he uses mostly. Let’s not deceive ourselves… Iheanacho is a good player but will never be a no. 9 his attributes does not fit it… Rohr is also always known to never make incisive changes and substitutions on time… he only starts substituting around 80th minute even in friendlies… If Rohr wants affection from all SE fans he needs to up his own coaching game too…

    • @JimmyBall…

Ur ex and african guardiolas that use to make early substitution what was our ranking then?

How many afcon did we qualify for between 2012 & 2019 with their early substitution???

U have forgotten that they use to call us “super chickens” even with their early substitution….

But wait if i may as; why would u allow hatred to becloud ur sense of imagination such that u can’t see the good a fellow man like u???

Bcos of football u have to disqualify, discredit and spew all kinds of thrash against a fellow human like u….

Remember one day u would be called upon to head a particular post or office, the same cup u measure to OGA ROHR will be measured to u ASAP….
      (the LAW OF REAPACAUTION)

      • @UBFE So you guys are concluding that we must stagnate with Rohr and not Improve abi??????, have you ever heard of a saying that goes as this “You can’t teach a old dog new Tricks” Rohrs only saving grace is that he does not select based on Sentimental values Like our Indigenous coaches would. because lets face it if Stephen Keshi invited the best we had available back in World Cup 2014 we would have reached the semi Finals by beating France that fateful day. Stephen Keshi Tactically is miles ahead of Rohr its just his Nigerian Mentality killed our football back then

Bro you hit the nail on the head. You know football. Don’t mind those who keep licking Gernot Rohr ass

      • Ayphillydegreat 4 years ago

Yes leave us alone let us continue to lick his ass because we see progress compared to your ex African Guardiolas who took us to 70th in world ranking and made us miss 3 out of four AFCONS. You can stop watching the SuperEagles henceforth because your misery will continue as Rohr will continue to make progress with this exciting SuperEagles.

  • Sammy 4 years ago

Please you guys criticizing the national coach should please take the necessary first step of buying a form and applying to the National Institute for Sports football coaches programme. ‘Cause your decision making processes really should baffle anyone who has the slightest idea about coaching or picking any kind of team.

You guys would take a young player to a senior world cup who could barely get into Worlfsburg first team and scored zero goals in 17 appearances? na wa o….

With respect to the nations cup, you want Rohr to play Osimhen ahead of Ighalo in 2019? How?

    • JimmyBall 4 years ago

… @Sammy at Wolfsburg Victor Osimhen had a bad injury and he was not trusted much. I am not talking about Wolfsburg… Osimhen did enough at Cherleroi to even come off the bench even for 15 minutes. I don’t hate Rohr, I am only being objective in my opinion. Did we not get humbled by Madagascar? Even the Algeria game we were always second best… What minutes did he give to Josh Maja and Peter Olayinka in the friendlies they were invited? At AFCON 2019, he said Osimhen was not ready by his body language and yet when Amaju Pinnick went to talk to them after the semi final loss to Algeria… You could see an obviously sad and disappointed Osimhen, if Ighalo had not retired, he will still be playing him ahead of Osimhen.

      • @Jimmyball….

Madagascar Humbled Rohr and his team which the SE couldn’t make it to the 2nd round….. What an irony….

But our ex world best, legends(whether na GULDER or CHAMPION or HEINEKEN), african gaurdiolas can not i repeat “CANNOT” FINISH AS COMMON “BEST LOOSER” after playing 6 good matches in a group that has “MINOs” like SUDAN, CONGO, SOUTH AFRICA (2015 AFCON QUAL.)….
Infact they struggled to finish 3rd.
        Hahahahaha…

        8points from 6 matches… hahahaha,
        so shambolic.

Each time we face MINOs like ETHIOPIA, MALAWI, LESOTHO, GARBON, CONGO and SUDAN it will be as IF WE ARE FACING BRAZIL, GERMANY, FRANCE, SPAIN, HOLLAND.
        Hahahaha.

They can’t qualify from a group that has GUINEA, ETHIOPIA, MADAGASCAR in 2012; chai!…

U people would not mention all this HUMILIATIONS, DISGRACE, SHAME, EMBARRASSMENT, HARRASSMENT & Ridicule that our world best ex international and african guardiolas put us through…

It is a dead rubber game wich a draw or loss would not do us any harm that we keep singing…

  • @Iwunze.

Osimhen did not play the cameroun match and nigeria lost that game,
    chai!
    What a pity.
Wisdom pls kindly locate some people in this forum.

Sometimes i wonder why England keep using KANE (even when he’s returning from injury) when they have ABRAHAM & GREENWOOD.

Why FRANCE should use GIROUD that rarely score when MATIAL is hiting the net for MAN U.

Sometimes i wonder how u people analyse this game.

What was the confident level of OSIMHEN b4 the WC & AFCON?

How many matches did OSIMHEN play for SE b4 the AFCON?

Yet No goal, no assist, no shot on target and u want the coach to play him ahead of a player that was the highest goal scorer during afcon qualifiers and still won it at the tournament proper.

U people are so irretating with your clueless, useless, stupid and empty analysis….

Always looking for ways to fault ROHR just bcos he refuse to dance to the tone of ur legends and african quardiolas….

What u do to a foreigner, another person will do same to u…
    REAPACAUTION is real…

    • @Ubfe, you sound like Dr.Drey.
      I love it.
It’s like I’m tired of responding to some comments here.
      All I know is…In Rohr I trust.
      Thank you for that response

    • @UBFE you have to calm down like this… Lolz.. Some forumite can just make one go nuts with their submission. Imagine someone referring to loss of Madagascar match as yardstick for measuring Rohr tactical prowess, hatred can actually makes one to see white n call it black!

    • That’s why I said Some of you have no clue about sports and football. All you know is commenting in the comments section.

My friend @UBFE quality is not bought you are born with it. Osimhen is not a player that needs to play many games to prove he is capable. Mind you Wayne Rooney was integrated into England at 18 because of Quality. Michael Owen 18 quality, Ronaldo in portugal also 18. Phil Foden how old is he??????, Mason Greenwood how old is he??????? my friend What is this thing of Nigerians on this forum not being able to differentiate between when a player has quality or when he is average and just having a good Run.

Players are born with quality some are not period! and have to work extra harder than those with quality. we are blessed because Osimhen is born with quality.

Look at how fast he hits the ground Running after joining any European club. With the exception of Wolfsburg???????????????? where he was not given a chance as he has come out to say. If Osimhen was given ample playing time in the group stages as a half time substitute in all our 3 Group stage matches he would have probably given Rohr no option but to Bench Ighalo come the knock outs I know this for sure. My people Please Learn football before talking rubbish on this forum. You will probably find that Rohr’s Loyalty to Ighalo even when he was clearly not coping against Algeria’s pacey defence. Also Rohr’s tactics against Algeria didn’t fit the game plan he used . Hitting Long balls behind Algeria’s speedy defence and Expecting a slow Ighalo who always came up short to beat the Algerian defenders which Ighalo failed miserably. Meanwhile he had a SPEEDY OSIMHEN BENCHED the entire game when Osimhen would have definitely met up with at least 1 or 2 of those Long balls and Scored. WHAT NONSENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That’s what I mean when I say Rohr has Quality Players but his poor sense of decision making is shameful Period. Rohr ass kissers say what you like but it is FACTS

    • @UBFE and another thing. The fact that Rohr is only Singing Osimhen’s Praises now is also a cause for concern and a Red flag because a coach who has trained with this boy for 2 years Like Rohr has, shouldn’t need Napoli and Osimhen’s Price tag to convince him of that.

  • Edoguy 4 years ago

Nigeria has to do well at the 2022 world cup, depending on the draw, they should get to the semi finals of the world cup.. So many options and I am so happy for the team.

GK – Uzoho, Akpeyi, Osigwe, Maduka Okoye, Ezenwa, and so many other young goalkeepers

Def – Ehizibue, Ebuehi, Shehu, Aina, Collins, Zaidu, Ekong, Balogun, Omeruo, Awaziem, Uduokhai, Akpoguma (Both just switch allegiance), Adebarioyo, Tuoronigha (might switch allegiance), Idowu

Mid – Etebo, Aribo, Ndidi, Eze, Iwobi, Ejaria, Onomah, Noah Joel Sarenren, Onazi, Azeez

Attackers – Chukwueze, Dessers, Osimhen, Nwankwo, Musa, Sadiq Umar, Osayi samuel, Enobakhare, Chidera Ejuke, Onyekuru, Emmanuel Dennis, Simon Moses, Solomon Otabor, Josh Maja, Simon Kalu etc

The only think that can affect Nigeria now is if the coaches make the wrong decision

    • Edoguy 4 years ago

I didnt mention Onuachu and Okeke

    • Michael 4 years ago

Just remove Eze from that midfield. That one wey dey form sey he too big for the team. He actually said that he would have regretted had it been he chose Nigeria. The guy mind and soul dey England. But he go soon end up like ibe, chuba akpom etc

  • When SE was rooted in 70th position in world ranking u people didn’t come here & gnash ur teeth,

when SE were called “super chicken” & non of u enjoyed watching their games, we didn’t hear these thrashes.

when SE couldn’t qualify for back-to-back afcon even when they were given the “CHEAPEST” groups.
U people did not come here to spew rubbish.

Madagasca defeated our SE in a dead rubber game & u people are singing, clapping & even going ahead to use it as a yardstick to measure the strength of a coach that beat CAMEROUN 4 NIL, ALGERIA 3-1, ZAMBIA(home & away), EGYPT, POLAND, etc.

Meanwhile our legends, ex best, african guardiolas cant even stand any of these teams btween 2014-2016.

In 2012 afcon qual.; in a grup that has GUINEA, MADAGASCAR, ETHIOPIA yet we cant qualify even as BEST LOOSER.

SE finished 3rd in a group that has “MINOs” like S.AFRICA, CONGO, SUDAN and yet nobody is talking,
we do as if nothing happened.

I don’t want to mention the 2017 that has EGYPT & TANZANIA.

    Keep hating a foreigner.

We have to stand for the truth….
I knew what i use to suffer pre-ROHR appointment (i.e when our world best ex-internationals and african guardiolas were in charge)….
Watching SE games with fear and anxiety…. Now the reverse is the case and some people want to take me back to that old path….

It would not work,,,, i repeat it would not work….

@ubfe and Sean, u guys just took words out of my mouth. No mind them. Nobody heard their voice during our dark days, now that rohr is gradually changing our team to a formidable one, them don get the audacity to come here and yan nonsense. They always mention our loss to Madagascar in a dead rubber game but fail to mention the countless number of heart wrenching games we lost (even at home) in the past with their guardiolas in charge. Is it the nations qualifier matches we lost on home soil that made us fail to qualify for ordinary afcon???? All of u mentioning the Madagascar game are a bunch of shameless sorry idiots that need help.

      • @Oakfield I was a mainstay in Kickoffnigeria before Complete sports was born and I Ugo Iwunze or Muna Iwunze as I was known on the Kickoffnigeria forum. So please bro get your facts straight before you begin de yarn Popo. Abeg I take God beg you bros.

        • Oakfield 4 years ago

@ugo iwunze. So, in your mature mind, u feel osimhen should’ve be featured ahead of igahlo who was as at the time the highest goal scorer in the qualifiers and the tournament in progress? So, if you were in rohr’s shoes you would’ve thrown a young player with little experience with regards to senior men’s African football into the field to perform wonders ahead of proven legs? Have u heard of time and experience? Now let me buttress, osimhen despite his talent was deliberately kept on the bench to garner experience/learn the ropes as was did to many players of great repute like ronaldo, messing, etc without which they wouldn’t have clicked when they eventually got the opportunity (time) to perform on the big stage. It was not his time to dance at the time. If rohr had fielded him ahead of igahlo, you would’ve been amongst those calling for his head for fielding a rookie ahead of a proven experienced striker. Let me remind u that even since he (osimhen) was given the chance to perform, he’s not been that prolific as expected, only scoring a couple of goals mostly through penalties which is not supposed be for a prolific striker. This anlone should tell u that the young lad needs time for him to get his footing in the national team and that time is a gradual process. Osimhen, will get now get his time(as ighalo has made way) as there are a whole lot of very important matches to be played in the future and i hope he proves his mettle but i really hope youll be around to defend him when things dont go his way as it’s a norm in life. The years you spent on kon doesn’t really matter as common sense has nothing to do with age and time, after all, the age of metusallah has nothing to do with the wisdom of Solomon. No doubt, u were one of those (if not the one) calling keshi “gather and play” coach despite the giant strides he was making at the time. In fact, u were one of the people talking trash on kon at the time just as it’s being experienced here. Your submission reeks of acute ignorance and lack of common sense. You make mention of the dead rubber game we lost against Madagascar but failed to mention the series of very important games we lost even on home soil when your so called messiahs were in charge. Where was ur voice when we were languishing in the wilderness to the extent that we couldn’t even get good quality friendly match suitors? All we could get were countries like Sudan, Somalia, Niger republic whom we even still sweated profusely to beat like one killing a goat with a blunt knife under a scorching sun. Your position that rohr should be replaced now with another foreigner should be based on what factors going by current empirical statistical facts and figures of the team, players and coach? Pls, I’d like u to furnish us with a strong argument backed up with current facts and figures that should make us accept ur proposal otherwise u keep mute and stop coming here to expose ur folly.

          • I have not seen Ighalo play for the super Eagles at the Level Osimhen has, against Lesotho and Benin. Against Lesotho when, he was finally given a chance. Mind you only 2 or so months after AFCON 2019, He was directly involved in all 4 goals we scored in that win. The assist for Iwobi was phenomenal, not to mention that for Chukwueze and then his two goals. Osimhen, Chukwueze and Ndidi were our stand out performers. Osimhen won Man of the Match that game

Also look at what the boy did to Brazil’s Defence and Ukraine.. Ighalo does not move like that now not to mention speed Osimhen has bags more of that Ighalo

@Oakfield again stop talking nonsense your hate for Victor Osimhen will get you no where the boy is our poster boy now take it or leave it. Ighalo has never been Super Eagles Poster boy. Osimhen has Achieved that at the age of 21. that in itself should paint a picture regarding the Profile and level of the two players.

Please don’t get me wrong I love Odion Ighalo who doesn’t but, I think any coach in their right mind would not have left Big Vic on the bench in that tournament knowing the quality he posses. Osimhen deserved at least a full 90 minutes in that tournament in matches that Mattered. not a dead rubber game.

Even Messi was on the bench at 2006 world cup. This is after he was best player at 2005 junior U-20 world cup. There is time for everything. Every star has his own time.

    • SAMUEL Ikechukwu ONYEIWU 4 years ago

So some of you want ROHR to bench ighalo and play osimhen both at the nations cup and world cup? Na wa for una.
@Edoguy,please it is not by gathering stars together that you must get to world cup semi finals !!! the most important thing is the administrative aspect of the team.At france 98 world cup,the French coach dropped eric cantona,David Ginola and jean papin and brought in Thierry henry and trezeguet and they eventually won the world cup.But am not saying taking quality players to tournaments is not good, but administration comes first.

    • @Ikeben Again Go back and Look at What happened in 2006 World Cup and tell me again. So Argentina should have benched Carlos Teves, Hernan Crespo and Javier Saviola abi. Abeg make we hear word Jare. So is Ighalo better than Hernan Crespo or Carlos Teves???????? . and Even Messi got playing time at the World Cup he played and was prominent registered a goal and 2 assists in 2006 Germany

      • Ikeben 4 years ago

If Messi could not bench Carlos Teves in 2006 World cup, then why complaining that Osimhen did not bench Ighalo. Messi had 1 start and 2 substitute appearance with only 1 assist in the second group games, which was his first game and no goals. You can ask google. Osimmhen played 1 game in Afcon. So but for both stars a year later every thing changed.

What I am saying is we need a new non Nigerian Coach ( Except the Coach is Amunike then great) with fresh ideas and good decision making well timed substitutions again. I know for sure without a shadow of a doubt Had Osimhen been primed before that Algeria game and played that Algeria game when it was clear Ighalo was struggling we would have beaten Algeria for Sure.

No Doubt about it. Not sure about Senegal then but now we will even beat Senegal I am sure of it. P.s Still Secretly hoping Eze and Saka change nationalities.

    • Dr. Drey 4 years ago

Hahahahaha…Mr Nostradamus….stop ranting here and let us hear word.

“…. I know for sure without a shadow of a doubt Had Osimhen been primed before that Algeria game and played that Algeria game when it was clear Ighalo was struggling we would have beaten Algeria for Sure…”

Osimhen played the next match against Tunisia a few days later and didnt have a shot on target, Sam kalu came in with about 5 mins left and brought 2 saves out of the tunisia goalkeeper. With this your “I know for sure”, Osimhen would have scored 2 goals and we would probably have beaten Tunisia silly…but it was the same Ighalo’s goal that gave us victory in that match.

You are ranting up and down now that Osimhen is nearing his peak. When he was still emerging, when this same Rohr was calling him up when he wasnt even delivering yet for wolfsburg, you were missing from this forum. Now that Osimhen has blown, you are making noise about knowing someone who is born with talent and someone who is not….telling us what we all know….giving us prophesy of what is obvious, like most of these so-called ‘men of god’. Success surely has many parents.

So in your right senses looking at the forms of Osimhen, Onuachu and Ighalo both for club and country going into 2019 AFCON, you would have made Osimhen your 1st choice abi…? 4 matches, no goals, no assists, no shots on target and “you know for sure” osimhen would have demolished the Algerian defense that didnt concede from regulation time throughout AfCON up till the penalty Ighalo scored against them…???.

Mr man you are the one that needs to go and sit down. This same Osimhen that “you know for sure would have demolished algeria” did not score a goal in open play for Nigeria until his 9th cap vs lesotho. So go and throw that your oracle that is telling you nonsense into ogbuashi river. Between you and the oracle, one of you must be seriously intoxicated. The Chukwueze you were ranting about before AFCON went missing throughout the group stages and was pocketed by Bensabailli vs Algeria. I am sure if Rohr didnt play him too you will come here to rant about knowing for sure Chuwkueze would have scored hattricks in every match in the group stage.

Complaining about Rohr starting Odion ahead of victor in 2019 is like complaining that Rohr is starting Osimhen ahead of Maja in 2020 simply because Maja became Bordeaux top scorer at the end of 2020/2021 season……It is a senseless complaint. You can as well complain that Rohr is starting Osimhen in 2020 ahead of Akinkunmi Amoo who has just emerged a top scorer in the Belgian league at the end of 2025 season.

Every player has his time. This is Osimhen’s time now. Let him enjoy it in peace. Football nor be by I know for sure. In football nothing is for sure. Did you also know for sure the Onuachu would have flopped massively at AFCON after scoring on his debut…?

      • @dr Drey Was he given a chance before Lesotho, thats the point we are trying to make you ingrate..

My friend once again I say “keep smoking that Indian Hemp”, it is clearly doing wonders for you.

  • @Dr Drey again I don’t respond to clowns you are a big clown and a fool claiming to have followers on this site when we all know you are forming as at least 6 people on this forum. I.e. (UBFE, OAKFIELD, And the list goes on) continue to smoke that ebgo we dey kolo your brain only god fit saves you because e bi like say that Indian hem wey you dey smoke has completely take over HAHAHAHHAHAHAA!!!!!!!..

@deo yes I would have given Osimhen minutes in the Group stages against Burundi and Guinea and by then would have been able to gauge who was more clinical because by then they would have both had Tournament match fitness.

@Dr Drey my dear in a Tournament players need rhythm and you can only acquire rhythm form game time in that Tournament so any coach in their right mind should not only play 1 no 9 the entire tournament it is suicide and proved against Algeria Because, Ighalo was burnt out by that Semi final. Still the Dizzy Rohr Kept Ighalo for the entirety of the game when he was being out muscled and out paced by Algeria’s defenders.

Osimhen is quicker than those Algerian Defenders that were on parade that day

But I wouldn’t expect you to know that because you have never played ball in your life

    • But then again the Idiot Rohr had cornered himself because he knew Osimhen was not tournament or Match fit by Algeria because he had no minutes prior meanwhile Algerians were already a well oiled engine by the semi finals because their team had been well drilled and, each player in that squad had some good minutes under their belt.

So you think the idiot coach did not realise that by then he had shot himself in the foot with Osimhen. anyway I am not surprised the stupid coach had already settled for 3rd position before the tournament as i clearly remember him saying that was his goal.

      Nonsense!!!!!!!!

      • Dr. Drey 4 years ago

Hahahahhaa…your well-oiled machine Algeria team needed an owngoal and giveaway freekick in the last seconds to defeat a Dizzy coach….LMAO.

        • Hahaha lol @dr drey u are funny

    • Dr. Drey 4 years ago

Hahahahha…it is idiots like you that claim I have followers…LMAO. It is stupid idiots like you that cannot bear to see sensible people agreeing to sensible points of view that claim anyone who agrees to my point of view (people I have never met in life before or had any contact with whatsoever b4) is my follower.
      Senseless children born in regret…..!!!

I must really be super human to be about to have 6 identities, 6 writing signatures, 6 thought processes and even engage myself in banters and arguments….LMAO. That’s how low your intelligence quotient is to be reasoning like that.

You claim you dont respond to clowns and fools like me yet your are tagging me in your responses….cant you see who the bigger fool is here….? LMAO

So as stupid as your are you still remember that players need rhythm, yet your brain did not tell you that a player who was struggling to recover from illness and was even falling easily in training was not yet fit to be thrown into the deep end at the AFCON, especially in the group stages when most times we were not clearly in the lead enough to sub players in just for the sake of “acquiring rhythm”…??? Your chukweze and Onuachu were there, flopping against Burundi and it took the coming in of the recovering, unfit, yet experienced duo of Ighalo and Musa to crack Burundi.
Your stupidity did not remind you that by the end of the group stages we had already play 2 no 9s and 19 out of 23 players we took to AFCON. Is that not enough rotation….?? 2019 AFCON was the 1st time we went to afcon with 23 players and used them all. If your stupidity knew what rhythm is it would tell you that teams building rhythm in tournaments by keeping the squad tight together and not flip flopping with selections like diapers unless some

Ighalo was burnt out by the semifinal but your dead memory seems to has forgotten that the same Ighalo who “had burnt out by the semifinals” scored 3 days latter vs Tunisia (no 2 ranked team in Africa) yet Osimhen whom you knew “..is quicker than those Algerian Defenders …” and “…for sure would demolish Algeria…” didnt have a shot on target against tunisia and still went another 4 matches for Nigeria After afcon b4 he scored from open play…??

Onuachu with his 22 goals in all competitions that season and after scoring on his debut vs egypt featured in every of the 1st 4 matches we played at AFCON….has that guaranteed his scoring for the SE since then…? So where then is your senseless guarantee that a player who took 9 matches to score his 1st goal in open play for Nigeria would have demolished Algeria’s defense…???
I’ve told you…go and throw tht your oracle that is giving you fake guarantees into the river….one of you must be highly intoxicated. As drunk and stupid as you are…you even tagged @Deo in your response….LMAO….I look from top to bottom and back and cant find anywhere @Deo typed an alphabet on this thread. Does that not tell who the mad man really is on this thread at the moment…??

Any small thing, after talking nonsense, they will claim they played football…the rest never played football…they must shut up. Na dem be FIFA now wey be authority in football….LMAO. @ugo please lets get past 2019 turnament at list its not the last we will ever play, the winners also diserve it too if we have to be realistic, dont tel me you dont know we lost to a late freekick not 3 0 or 4 0. algerians didnt dominate rohr, it was a balanced game that was open for bothside, unfurtunately algeria took the luck. in the last euro nations cup england lost to iceland(same team rohr defeated in wcup) belgium lost to wales (belgium is currently world number 1 and hold a wcup bronze) russia bit spain in the last wcup and iran drew spain too ( u kno spain have realmadrid and bacelona stars) argentina lost 3 0 to croatia and drew iceland. greece bit france, cech republic and portugal in portugal to claim euro 2004. brazil was humilated at home 7 1 by their agemate in the game (germany) with scolari a former wcup winner, i am just trying to say dat on a very bad day in football giants can be humilated wether they like it or not. if portugal could snash the last euro nations cup from france in that dying minutes it shouldnt be surprise to you that algeria took the day from us in same manner, afterall we are both giants in africa football (agemates) and that game was played in their territory (northafrica), dont forget we lost 1990 afcon final to algeria in their teritory too, its not easy to bit them in that north they the dessert worriors oh. even yekini couldnt score in that match or his yekini not good too? i am not trying to defend rohr tacktiks but i believe he was waiting for extratime where by ighalo and musa would have come out for kalu and osimeh that was his plan, unfurtunately the game ended earlier unexpectedly by errors of aweziem ndidi sometimes our players should take the blames. i am optimistic rohr will make it up for us, in the nest afcon. trust me, also remember that in 1992 westerhof won bronze two years later he won Gold. so mr ugo try to be calming down like this.

One lunatic will still come here one day to blame westerhof for not taking Kanu to USA94 WC since he later became our MVP at Atlanta 96 and a 2 time AFTOY within 4 years….or for putting ikpeba on the bench in 1994 since he latter prince of monaco and AFOTY in 1997…LMAO

There are definitely worse things in life than being hooked on narcotics…LMAO

That was when the so called stupid coach invited Osimhen to his first assembled Team.
And after the match , he predicted that Osimhem is the future which is happening NOW.
And that was back in 2016(4 years from Now)

    • Oakfield 4 years ago

Waste of time @sean, he will not read it. We’ve seen his likes come and fizzle out here after being confronted with the truth (evidence and facts) like u just painstakingly did. His would be same story soon.

    • Dr. Drey 4 years ago

Thanks for that link @Sean. It’s Very obvious that from the get go, this man came with a clear mind to select the very best per time for Nigeria. Its just that the race is for the swiftest as they say. Check out the names in his first and earlier squads…then you will understand that some actually played themselves out of the SE since they couldn’t measure up to the standards he clearly laid down

      Nigeria squad:

Goalkeepers: Carl Ikeme (Wolverhampton Wanderers, England); Emmanuel Daniel (Enugu Rangers); Ikechukwu Ezenwa (FC IfeanyiUbah)

Defenders: Leon Balogun (FSV Mainz 05, Germany); William Troost-Ekong (Haugesund FC, Norway); Chidozie Awaziem (FC Porto, Portugal); Jamiu Alimi (Kano Pillars); Abdullahi Shehu (Uniao da Madeira, Portugal); Musa Muhammed (Istanbul Basaksehir, Turkey); Elderson Echiejile (AS Monaco, France), Kingsley Madu (AS Trencin, Slovakia)

Midfielders: Mikel John Obi (Chelsea, England); Ogenyi Onazi (Trabzonspor, Turkey); Wilfred Ndidi (KRC Genk, Belgium); Nosa Igiebor (Maccabi Tel Aviv, Israel)

Forwards: Ahmed Musa (Leicester City, England); Kelechi Iheanacho (Manchester City, England); Moses Simon (KAA Gent, Belgium); Victor Moses (Chelsea FC, England); Imoh Ezekiel (Al-Arabi Sporting Club, Qatar), Odion Ighalo (Watford FC, England); Brown Ideye (Olympiacos FC, Greece); Victor Osimhen (Wolfsburg FC, Germany)

The victor osimhen whom some fake exfootballers want to claim they know more that everyone now was even invited by this same Rohr as far back as 2016 when he was barely 18 years old.

  • @Unique.

    I’m not @Dr. Drey; Ok

I use to bear “UBTEXT” (which is just a combination of my native name) during my first log in to this forum.

I later change it to “KING UB or KING” (wich is just the combination of by native name & its short meaning)

I have use “UB.F”; some times i use “UBF” b4 i finally use this one “UBFE” (short form of my real names).

I think i have cleared ur doubt. LOL

    It’s just that we’re different (base on tribe, state of origin, LGA, may be religion, status et al… But one thing is real about the likes of @Dr. Drey, @Oakfield, @Chairmanfemi, @sean, with some few others;

    they love success & progress,

they love positive change & improvement,

they call a spade a spade,

they are not sentimental in judging others,

they see the truth & are not shy of saying it,

they see, love, credit & appreciate other people’s success.

Their positive qualities are so numerous and i cherish it.

@unique pls don’t get confuse, the spirit is one.

    We aren’t tribalistic or racist.

    We’re GENEROUS.

“Rohr believes the young striker has what it takes to be a success at Napoli.

“Victor Osimhen is a great player, he is very important to us and he will be even more so thanks to the experience that he will get in a top club like Napoli. Despite his young age, he has many qualities and will show them in Italy,”Rohr told SSC Napoli

Coach Rohr should stop saying Osimeh is a great player. So you knew that and you beached Victor at the Afcon?

Why only in Africa we don’t believe in young players?

Because of Ighalo you benched this raw talented striker for nothing?

And your fans were backing you then and attacking anybody that asked why did you bench Osimeh because of Ighalo? Because of Ighalo’s experience ba?

I didn’t say Ighalo couldn’t deserved the top striker in that tournament but at least, Osimeh deserves some minutes as well.

Westerhof did not bench Siasia, Omokachi and other strikers for Rashidi Yekini instead, he managed to pair other strikers with baba Yekini while coach Rohr failed to relied on certain players that couldn’t deserves that merit? In the end, he can only managed to win Bronze. What is the point of keeping the young players on the bench then?

For me, I don’t have to much expectations as long as the gaffer remains the manager of the Super Eagles except NFF hired someone to manage the team with coach Rohr.

Who is going to be on the goal post in October now?

I am throwing this question to coach Rohr and his fans.

Akpeyi the coach Rohr’s no1 is not 100% recovered.

Also, Uzoho is not fully recovered as well if I’m not mistaken.

The goal keepers for the two encounters should be Alanpasun, Okoye and Osagwe. Is the coach confident enough to try one of these goalies?

So what is he building if he can’t then?

He only believes in Akpeyi who has nothing to offer Nigeria except I’m sorry for my mistakes?

Come on Nigerians. We have no time to waste and we have so many ex players that are ready to work Mr. Rohr.

    This is very frustrating men.

Is Osimeh is the only striker that really in form at moment? Capital no. We have Leke James, Simmy and Dessers.

Now, if they come to the national team today, is any assurance that they will score goals?

Why? Because the coach and his fans believed that we don’t have play makers but forgetting that we still have Rabiu Ibrahim, Azeez, Ejeria and Nwakali available till today.

No excuses from now on. We have players and goalies available and they are ready to do their very best for Nigeria. All the coach Rohr have to do is to believe in himself and his players. Age is just a number. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!

    • Ayphillydegreat 4 years ago

Rabiu Ibrahim???? Lmao!!! I laugh in itsekiri. Omo9ja don come again oo.

    • Oakfield 4 years ago

      Eheeeeee… Mr garbage is here….. Lol….

    • Dr. Drey 4 years ago

Hehehehehe….you have suddenly forgotten Fatai Alashe, Fanendo Adi and Arokodare….? LMAO. Now it is Leke James….when we are still looking for space for Simy (20 plus goals last season) and Umar Sadiq (17 goals, 17 assists last season)….Omo9ja the scouter…..LMAO

It is always so easy to call Rohr clueless, fool, dizzy and all sorts of names, but you only need to read what his critics write sometimes and you will ask yourself if their brains are aware of what their fingers are typing.

So you are the one that will remind Rohr that Akpeyi missed the last part of his season due to injury…or that Ezenwa has not played football since March….or that Uzoho needs to recover fully and settle down in his new clubs and hence do not need to be invited for the friendlies….???

Rohr does not believe in Okoye, yet he subbed him in vs Brazil ahead of Ezenwa and wanted to put him in goal vs Benin and Lesotho until the Goal keeper coach suggested otherwise that he still needs to be tested in lower stake matches before being thrown into competitive matches that come with plenty of pressure…???

Mr Scouter, have you not been following latest developments which indicate the Okoye will man the posts in the friendlies and a certain Mathew Yakubu who has kept 5 clean sheets in 5 matches in slovenia since snatching the 1st team shirt at his new club this season will also be invited to battle it out with Okoye…???

Pls get yourself properly informed before coming here to throw stones.
Lastly Westerhof did not experiment with Siasia/”Omokachi” and Yekini partnerships at AFCON….he did that in friendlies. Going into AFCON, we had Ighalo, Onuachu and Osimhen as our no 9s and the last time I checked, they all got their chances at the tournament.

  • Michael 4 years ago

@iwunze how you could possibly agree that Messi (a whole MESSI) could not bench crespo and tevez but turn around support that to happen in Super eagles? You know the truth (which is why you supported that of Messi vs crespo…) but have chosen to reason totally opposite in that of ighalo vs oshihmen

And fellow members have been trying to make you understand this (which is what you already know but forming denial) that there’s time for everything. That you have potential doesn’t mean you should be rushed into very competitive match immediately. It’s norm that players with potential are first nurtured, start by training with the first team, then progress gradually to making appearance in lesser competitive matches and then gradually become established (Rhor did this perfectly with oshihmen). It took oshihmen the Lesotho match (ordinary o ) to announce himself.

However some players can be so talented that you’ve no option but to throw them straight into competitive matches (Ansu Fati)

Reason before you type or talk
