Former Nigerian midfielder, Daniel Amokachi believes Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr has failed to utilize the true potential of Paul Onuachu in the team.

Onuachu is currently the best Nigerian player in Europe after scoring 25 goals in 29 games in all competitions in Europe for Onuachu.

Despite been compared to former Nigerian striker, Victor Agali due to his gangling nature and aerial prowess, Amokachi, insisted that Onuachu deserved to spearhead Super Eagles attack ahead of the team’s 2021 Africa Nations Cup qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho.

“Paul Onuachu has a better chance to spearhead the attack for Nigeria,” the 1996 Olympic gold medalist said, as per Today.

“He’s the only one, and that’s if the coaching crew knows how to use him.

“What Onuachu is experiencing in the Super Eagles was what Victor Agali faced during his time in the team.

“We didn’t use him well. He was scoring goals when he was in Germany, but the pattern of play in the Eagles did not suit him.”

In football, your opponents determine your tactics right?

Some times, you play through both windings for your strikers to score goals.

Some times it doesn’t work that way. You have to play through the middle for you to be able to score goals.

Also, the strikers you have as a coach determines your tactics.

Putting all of these things together as a coach is what we called a world class coach.

Hmm. I hope you people are following me?

However, I’m not really bothered about the remaining Afcon matches but I am more concerned about the future of the Super Eagles under Oga Rohr.

If I were Oga Rohr, I will use Onuachu as my joker.

Give Onuachu just 20 to 25 minutes with perfect tactics and with a perfect combination and see what is going to happen.

Dessers and Sodiq Umar should be the Super Eagles main men in the front.

Dessers has what it takes to put that number 9 on since Osimhen won’t be available for both encounters.

CSN should please ask Oga Rohr why he does trust Dessers.

Why the gaffer did not give Dessers much time to play?

By now, we shouldn’t have been worried about Osimhen that much because
    we have Dessers.

I will say this and I’m begging CSN to tell Oga Rohr to extend his invitations to those players that are playing in the lower leagues.

As long as they have what it takes, they should be welcome to play when we have friendly matches.

By doing that, the gaffer can try out new combinations of Adi, Dessers, Maja, Onyekuru and many other strikers.

Can you imagine having both Dessers and Adi together? What do you think will happen?

You can now see that oga Rohr is very rigidi. He still wanted Ighalo and Akpeyi back?

This is why I’m not in support of Oga Rohr to continue because he doesn’t know how to utilize our players to produce positive results like, Mr. Westerhof, Jo Bonfrere and Waldrum did.

When we are talking about ex players and indigenous coaches, we have Eguavoen that knows how to use players well.

We also have Siasia, Amunike, Egbo, Amodu and Keshi.

We are thinking ahead of Afcon qualifiers now. Here we are after the four years of Oga Rohr, we are not bold enough to say we can win both matches upon all the star players we have?

Although, we don’t have big star players like Messi and C.Ronald but we have decent players that can win both World cup and Afcon tournaments if properly managed.

Oga Rohr believe we are not good enough to win the world cup, if I’m not mistaken, he’s in doubt whether his team can win the Afcon trophy too. So, shall we continue with Oga Rohr or we should let go of him after the Afcon qualifiers?

If you truly love your country (Nigeria) have your say. CSN over to you.

Remember, next level of Sai baba sai Buhari lead us to this calamities of Nigeria of nowadays.

Shall we continue with Mr.Rohr yes or no?

I hate nobody but I can’t love nobody over our lovely country Nigeria. The bull have spoken. What is the next step? Amunike, Egbo and Enyeama or a new foriegn manager?

We are about to play the smallest teams in Africa and the fear is catching us like this but what of if we are playing against big teams like Algeria, Senegal, and Morocco?

Is there any assurance that the current Super Eagles can compete with the likes of Germany, Italy, Holland and so on? Hmm. Think about it my people. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!

    • Omo9ja I will have to disagree with you. Cyril Dessers is not the saviour of our attack abeg. Besides Osimhen we have no other stand out attacker at present. But, from what I saw from Josh Maja lately with Fulham, I believe Maja should be given the nod over Dessers and Co if Osimhen is not available, Iheanacho can come off the bench.

Also that way we will show faith in Maja and will stand a chance of not loosing another talented player to England because for now he will accept a call up, but I feel if Rohr does not solidify him a spot how he will opt for England Like Tosin recently did

    • @omo9ja i just read your comment and stop half-way bcos your opinions are contradictory….

      Dessers and Adi combination?

@omo9ja are u for us or u are against us?

U did not even mention inform strikers that are hitting the back of the net in top leagues….

Omo9ja Pls u have nothing to offer to our SE so pls just stay clear bikonu….
How on earth would u be giving us wrong combination?

My problem is always this calling on coach to play this one or that one meanwhile all these lads are nigerians….

  • I guess many forumites will agree with amokachi because he is who he is. But when we come out to say the same thing they attack us. A player cannot give what he doesn’t have, some can adapt to a,certain style or formation but not all. Onuachu doesn’t look like he will suddenly develop super speed or cutting edge skills. The only areas I see him improving in the National team is his positioning and work rate. But at the end of the day its his height that is his greatest asset which should be exploited when he plays for the National team. Like Amokachi said he is being underutilized because we expect him to play like osimhen (which he cant), while ignoring his ability to score aerial balls. Also, his height can come in handy when we are defending opponents corner kicks. He can be asked to help the defence defend corners. Something didier drogba used to do for chelsea back in the day. I have always said that im not a huge fan of paul but I appreciate what he is doing in Belgium at the moment. I also said that if coach Rohr plans to use him in any of the upcoming games, he should play to his strengths by selecting players alongside him who will give him the necessary service he needs to score, or the coach should leave him on the bench and look for an osimhen like player to play ahead of him.

  • When i see people that knows the art of soccer speak in an unfamiliar way it makes my heart sad….

Amokachi; how much did they give to you for this thrash?

    Well i’m not surprise atall….
Afterall if our politicians can sell our pride bcos of a meagre naira how much more of dollar…

It’s a shame when the whole world knows that not all players are national team product but a nigerian EX is still insisting….
    SO SHAMEFULL…
Not all players have the ability to transform their club form to the national team and ONUACHU is one of them ASAP.

We once had the likes of UJAH, AKPALA et all….
    Even BROWN IDEYE….
They all had this syndrum and hell did not loose, so it woun’t loose bcos of ONUACHU.

SADIQ, MOFFI, AWONIYI is coming, let’s see what they’ll offer to the team and stop crying over spoit milk.

SPEAK THE TRUTH AND STOP DECEIVING YOURSELF BCOS OF BROWN ENVELOP ASAP…..

Onuachu is not a bad player but those behind him don’t give him passes to score goals example iwobi and chibueze don’t like give passes to him but the give to osinhem all the time

      • You are speaking in nonsense sir

      • @JOSIAH Please bros for now just observe it is not by force to contribute to a chat thread on a topic. Especially if you don’t have a reasonable response to the chat. I mean did you see what you just wrote?? firstly I will correct you by Chibueze you mean Chukwueze. secondly did you know that Osimhen is much faster than Onuachu sometimes a player has to meet a ball half way. Have you played ball at all????

        • @JOSIAH meaning in most cases in a passing sequence, a player has to Move towards the ball when it is passed in order to have a better first touch upon connecting with the ball and in one move direct the ball to his or her desired direction on the pitch that way beating the opposing player if closed down. MEANINNG Bros you can be passed a ball but if you stand and wait for the ball to reach you then, you are a fool who is too slow, SLUGGISH AND LAZY TO REACH THE BALL, and have no business representing a national team such as Nigeria.. And also you need innate speed and pace in order to achieve this simple but very important sequence in a footballing match. Qualities (Speed & Pace ) Onuachu does not possess

Listen bros don’t make such statements again it is shameful.

We might need to breed some special players for Onuachu to succeed in Eagles jersey, according to some people, the guy is not super Eagles material for now simple. Bullying some fickle defenders in Belgium league doesn’t make him Eagles material, he needs to work on his speed, passing, positions, and he should stop falling down every minutes. Sorry Amokachi, we don’t ve Messi, maradona or Hagi  in super Eagles, we need fighters, ball hustlers and finishers n Eagles uniform not a onuachu.
