Cristiano Ronaldo is chasing his 100th goal milestone as Portugal face home side Luxembourg to fight for a win that will confirm their spot at the Euro 2020 championship.
The Juventus forward has scored 98 times for Portugal and just two goals away from hitting his 100th international mark. But the talismanic forward is chasing two accomplishments today at the Stade Josy Barthel, the second being Portugal’s Euro 2020 ticket which an outright win will guarantee.
With a win against Luxembourg today, Portugal will join the 16 who have already qualified as on Saturday November 16.
England,, Spain, France, Turkey, Belgium, Russia, Italy, Sweden, Poland, Finland, Germany, Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Croatia, Ukraine and Austria have booked their berths at Euro 2020, leaving four spots to fight for in today’s and Mknday’s normal qualifying clashes.
The last four spots that that will compete the number of qualified teams to 24/will be decided through the Euro Nations League playoffs in March 2020.

There has been a countdown to Ronaldo’s 100th international goal by notable personalities. Portugal coach Fernando Santos believes that anything is possible with his captain Ronaldo.
“Nothing about Ronaldo surprises me,” Santos said the Juventus forward netted a hat-trick against Lithuania.
“100 goals? I hope the next one is the most beautiful.”
Iran international Ali Daei who scored a record 109 goals for his country once predicted Ronald potential.
“Cristiano will reach my record, but it will take time,” Daei, told MARCA after the striker netted a hat-trick against Spain at the 2018 World Cup.
Since the World Cup, Ronaldo has scored 17 goals in 13 games for Portugal and is within 11 goals of Ali Daei’s record.
