Rose Confirms Fulcher Split

Rose Confirms Fulcher Split

Justin Rose has revealed on social media that he and longtime caddie Mark ‘Fooch’ Fulcher have ended their partnership.

Fulcher has carried Rose’s bag for more than a decade and the duo have enjoyed huge success together, with the Englishman’s 2013 US Open victory one of the biggest highlights.

However, the world number three has confirmed his good friend will be taking indefinite medical leave after he underwent surgery on a heart valve back in January. “After an amazing 11 years with Fooch, our successful run together has finished for now, as Fooch is required to take an indefinite leave of absence from caddying to focus on his health and well-being after the heart procedure earlier this year,” Rose wrote in a statement released on Twitter.

“He has been medically advised that a further period of recuperation is required. I wish him all the best as he works on getting 100-percent healthy. I also have no doubts that we will stride up a 72nd hole late on a Sunday afternoon together in the future.” Rose will be teeing it up at The Memorial Tournament this week and he is expected to have Gareth Lord, who caddied for Rose in Fulcher’s absence earlier this year, on the bag.
