This player is the key to unlocking the defences of our opponents. It is the responsibility of the coach to devise the method or tactics and the manner to use him. Congratulations ejuke.

  • Ejuke is always a goal threat any day any time…….He is also a means of holding unto the ball and creating spaces in the game……He hardly losses possession and his dribbles are always advancing forward……What else does a team who wants to attack need?……We should stop looking for excuses to keep some old players in the team and start looking for excuses to bring in new players who can make a difference by making us stronger.

Good morning all sport lovers and followers of Nigeria football and footballers

    I believe that the best practice everywhere in the world by any national team coach is to invite his best legs for any competitive games, players pick and drop forms while some players got injured in the course of any given football season. I think Genort Rohr has his first 11 already and the first 11 has been playing together at least after 2019 afcon in Egypt. And the first 11 is as follow;

    Okoye

    Aina Balogun Ekong Collins

    Indidi Aribo Iwobi

    Chukwueze Osimhen Kalu/Simon

Looking at this first 11 everyone will agree with me that this players have played about 80% of games played by the super eagles after the 2019 afcon togethe (both friendlies and competitive) And anytime Nigeria Super Eagles are playing a competitive games without this 11 believe me that the absentees in that first 11 is either injured or is on suspension. That has shown that the super Eagles have their 1st 11 already.

Now, the new players like Ejuke, innocent Bonke, Onyeka, moffi and host of other promising players are beginning to knock the door to gate crash into the 1st 11 makes the competition to be even more interesting.

    Based on my little analysis above, if Genort Rohr want to base his invitation on merit I think our 23 man squad ahoud look like this;

    Goal keepers: Okoye, Uzoho, Akpeyi

Defenders: Aina, Awaziem, Balogun, Ekong, Akpoguma, Collins, Zaidu, Omeruo.

    Midfielders: Indidi,Aribo,Iwobi,Onyeka,Bonke,Joel Obi.

    Forward:
    Osimhen,iheanacho, Awoniyi, Ejuke,Chukwueze, Dennis, Simon

Based on current form, I think this is the best we have at the moment and Joel Obi name is there temporary to fill in the absence of Inured Etebo. I don’t think we need any foreign born player for now prior to the Afcon that’s just around the corner. These players are already integral part of the natioal team.
    Squad number
    1 Okoye
    2 Aina
    3 Collins
    4 Indidi
    5 Ekong
    6 Balogun
    7.Dennis
8.Joel Obi( standing in for etebo)
    9 oshimhem
    10. Aribo
    11. Chukwueze
    12. Zanusi
    13.Ejuke
    14.Iheanaco
    15.Moses Simon
    16.Akpeyi
    17.Dennis
    18.Iwobi
    19.Awoniyi
    20.Awaziem
    21.Akpoguma
    22.Omeruo
    23.Uzoho

Pls no insult this is just my own opinion and entitle to it.

God bless Nigeria and God bless Africa!

Joel Obi should be in the team on his own merits… there should be nothing like standing in for anybody, besides, I do not think Etebo, Onyeka, Bonke, and Aribo are better, more seasoned midfielders than Joel Obi… If I recall very well, Joel Obi was at Torino doing so well before Russia 2018 World Cup… it was his performances and antecedents from the time of Siasia that he broke into SE and played commendably well each time that shouts became so loud for his inclusion in that RUSSIA 2018 World Cup party… he was fielded alongside Onazi who was himself no pushover at that time and played in a double pivot against England at Wembley… those two could not hold it down alongside Mikel Obi against an England team that swam all over our lads in the first half and had the game securely tucked away by the time the first halh already ended… our team played in that game against England with a negative defensive structure courtesy coach Rohr… Super Eagles were so poor and pathetic in the first half that they looked liked amateurs compared to England squad… I daresay it was down to Rohr’s inferiority-complex-negative-tactics that Onazi and Joel never clicked in that game… we were never used to being so static in midfield… but once tactics were changed to a 5-man midfield in the second half… our action on the pitch improved… that game was the game that sealed Onazi Ogenyi fate in further active involvement in the team and later when he got injured Pre-Afcon 2019… he was never called again… quite understandably though! As for Joel Obi… he has continued to play non-stop in Italy at an above average level which is still better than anything we can ever hope for, from the likes of Etebo, Onyeka and Bonke… when a player has mixed it at the very summit in a team like Inter Milan, Torino and all in all, the Serie A for all his footballing life… still doing it and is only 30years… younger in truth than the likes of (Etebo, Balogun, Musa, Umeruo and I doubt if Frank Onyeka is truly less than 30yrs as most Nigeria footballers who never came through from U-17 level have atleast 7years chalked off from their real age)… Joel Obi went to Italy at age 14, and went through the academy ranks… it is hard to knock off so much years from a 14year old registered in Europe… so we must stop lying to ourselves, it should not be an unwritten mandatory rule that majority of everyone playing for the Super Eagles must be at most 26yrs of age… we no the use young age win cup as coach Rohr likes to have orgasm yelling my “young team” always… even the recent capitulation against CAR, he attributed to the absence of Ndidi and Iwobi… we need a blend of youth and experience based purely on ability, skill, efficiency and merit! I have often echoed it here times without number recently that considering the average level of midfielders we have… especially in the defensive midfield role save for Ndidi alone… we need a guy back like Joel Obi to be starting… with Ndidi and in perfect fit where he is even left-footed… the next person in that role should be the young Kingsley Michael who recently, sadly, got injured again… Nigerians have a way of thinking we are chosen by some gods… eulogizing our mostly avaerage players because of the country’s past perdigree… compare our midfielders to other top African nations… we lag far behind! You will think Rohr is not a politician pandering to the dictates and good side of Northern Nigeria by continuing to do what he is told by powers that be (Pinnick included) to continue to play avaerage players in obscure teams and league ahead of others whose star is shinning so bright and undeniable for everyone to see… Joel Obi has to be recalled and planted in our first eleven… I watch Salernitana every gane day and followed him last season in Serie B also…
