Mat Ryan says the pressure is off Brighton and they are capable of pulling off an FA Cup upset against Manchester City. Brighton pulled off a miracle comeback against Millwall to set up the Wembley showdown with City, who also avoided an upset in the quarter-finals as they came back to beat Swansea.

City do not need reminding that upsets do happen. They lost the FA Cup Final against Wigan Athletic in 2013 and were knocked out by the same club last year. Even so Ryan is quick to point out the underdog can come through and believes Brighton can live up to tag.
“Whenever you play a big team like City it is a bit of a free hit. They are obviously a great team with a lot of great players. The pressure and expectation will be on them to win.
“But quite often in sport the underdog can make a game of it as we found out at Millwall and City discovered at Swansea. We’ll be doing everything we can to try to make a game of it and give ourselves the best possible chance of beating them.
“We are not shying away from the fact we are facing a tough task. But this is an opportunity for us to do something special.”Copyright © 2020 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
