Brighton may have to look at other managerial targets following reports Swansea’s Graham Potter has been offered a new deal. After sacking Chris Hughton on Monday, the Seagulls have been drawing up a list of possible replacements and Potter was immediately installed as their number one target to take over at the AMEX Stadium.

On a limited budget, the 43-year-old Englishman led the Swans to a 10th-place finish in the Championship, nine points adrift of Derby County who claimed the final play-off position. With Wales international Daniel James expected to leave the Liberty Stadium this summer, Potter could be tempted with the opportunity to test his skills in the Premier League next term.
Brighton were hopeful of being given the green light to start negotiations with the former Ostersunds boss but the Seagulls may have to turn their attention elsewhere. It claimed Potter has been offered a new contract by Swansea although the manager will want assurances over spending money before penning an extension.
