Serie A: Ebuehi Shines, Osimhen Missing As Empoli Stun Napoli

Super Eagles defender, Tyronne Ebuehi bagged an assist while Victor Osimhen was missing in action as Empoli stunned Napoli 1-0 in Sunday’s Serie A game.

The Nigerian international, who was making his ninth appearance has bagged one assist in the league this ongoing season.

Ebuehi was a delight to watch from the right flank as his pace created problems for Napoli defenders to match.

In the second half, the Nigerian international made a superb interception as he prevented Simeone from putting Napoli in the lead.

The hosts forced a couple of big early saves from Etrit Berisha with a Matteo Politano curler and the Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa header on the resulting corner.

Empoli also had two chances in quick succession, Mattia Cancellieri drilling just wide after a good passing move before Gollini rushed out to push the ball off Ciccio Caputo’s feet.

Napoli thought they had won it in the final minute when a wayward Lindstrom effort turned into an assist for Kvaratskhelia at the near post, but Berisha stuck out a foot to deny the angled drive in a sensational reaction save.

Instead, moments later it was Empoli who took the lead with a stunning right-foot strike from Kovalenko, who managed to bend it around Gollini in off the inside of the upright at the far top corner from a tricky angle after a beautiful cut back from Ebuehi.

Ebuehi is good but not an African football material maybe he needs loads of Akpu, Eba,Amala. Aina is way better.

His assist in Russia 2018 speaks volumes.

We keep saying African material like any African team has ever dreamt of winning the world cup. If Messi were Nigeria, he’d probably not have had any chance because he’s not African football material. If a player is good, he is good.

I rate him highly if he was born in Nigeria, then he will be playing for U17 due to his build.

Let’s be frank, he needs to up his ante body build wise.
