Fans keep wondering why SE players makd impact week in week out while they on national duty like lookman. Iwobi have spoken out why SE don’t play on full strength since they switch to Abuja stadium. The pitch there is very bad . He said. It will be very hard to get the best from SE players like lookman, Bassey , Akpogoma, Iwobi et al, who where raise abroad and use to Playing on good pitches.Definitely these players feel frustrated by the pitches but are afraid to speak out. The outcome of all these is that on the Abuja pitch their performance always drops. I’m 100% sure that is one of the reasons SE lost the World cup ticket to Ghana in Abuja. Now Iwobi has joined Balogun in stating emphatically that the NFF must stop playing nepotism , tribalism and plebendalism with the SE and give the SE a permanent home. In Nigeria today the best pitch is in Akwa Ibom state . When SE was playing there they used to qualify for major tournament with games to spare. Other good stadiums with good supporter spirit and pitches are PH, Benin,Calabar, Kaduna and Enugu..On bended knees im joining other Iwobi, Balogun and other detribalised SE fans to plead with the NFF to shield all swords of corruption and tribalism and Make any of the above stadia a permanent home for SE. It must not be Abuja which is full of badluck, poor supporters spirit and bad pitch. Like I have stated in my last post many nations with a rich football culture don’t play crucial matches in their headquarters but in a chosen stadium with a good supporter spirit, good pitch and good luck.

      Well said.

Apart from the terrible pitch, the weather is often a very critical factor too.

You bring players from sub 20 degrees temperatures to come play under the 35plus degree heat and humidity of Abuja and you think you still have “home advantage”.

You move players to strange cities and stadiums they probably have never been to in Nigeria and you think you still have home advantage….??? How are they different from opponents who are also visiting same city/stadium for the 1st time too….??

Seriously do we have people who use their brains at all in that NFF, especially that one that calls himself the technical director…..??

  • I think Atalanta are not giving Lookman enough game time this days and it has affected Atalanta’s results of late…….How can you bench your best player?…..Gasperini has started his dictatorial behavior again……the same way he treated Gomez and illicic……I hope am wrong anyway……BTW Orban scored a brace today and an assist…… what a player

Here they go with there excuses again, but when they played Portugal in a friendly, was the pitch the problem or the weather? Iwobi should just keep quiet, his team that has good pitches and better players, why are they struggling to win games. Abeg make we hear word, people wey never step on top of the stadium dey here dey complain, yeye dey smell
