Serie A: Osimhen Brace Seals Three Points For Napoli Against Udinese

Victor Osimhen scored twice as Napoli rallied back from a goal down to beat Udinese 2-1 in their Serie A clash at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on Saturday.

Gerard Deulofeu gave Udinese the lead in the 22nd minute.

Osimhen netted the winning goal in the 63rd minute following an assist from Giovanni Di Lorenzo.

The striker also bagged a brace in Napoli’s 2-1 win against Hellas Verona last weekend.

The Nigeria international has now scored 11 goals in 20 league appearances for the Partenopei this season.

The 23-year-old is now the first Nigerian to reach double figures for goals in two different seasons in Serie A.

His compatriot Isaac Success was not named in the matchday squad by Udinese.

This is African football and there’s a huge difference between international assignments and club football

Is easier to score in club side because there’s cohesion unlike international football which is hard

      He won’t score in ghana

      • Ndubest 2 years ago

Hahahaha u dey console yourself @ selfmade king. You have not seen anything. You will cry next week Friday.

  • Rotexy 2 years ago

Our boastful noisy neighbor said both Osimhen and Ighalo are average players. No problem, we stay humble!

  • Michel 2 years ago

Next stop is Ghana for total annihilation of those talkatives.we will teach them a lesson of football,I know there coaches are shivering now after watching this game

  • Greenturf 2 years ago

Wow amazing!thank God he finished unscathed that’s what matters to Nigerians.

  • Golden Child 2 years ago

The Nigerian boys are not smiling.

  • Osimhen is in the form of his life. Ighalo is doing the same. I am not advocating for them, but I sincerely think the combination of experience and youthfulness of Ighalo and Osimhen respectively will be too much for Ghana defence to handle if everything goes well on Friday. I watched Ighalo’s highlights and the Napoli’s match, and I must tell you that both players are hot right now. Let’s hope that Eguavoen gets it right with the formation he comes up with on Friday, but I think goals will rain on Friday and Super Eagles will win

  • pompei 2 years ago

Osigoal at the double. Nice one.
All our strikers should stay red hot.
Let’s go to Mama yara stadium and shake the Ghana net with reckless abandon.
The eagles are coming! Ghana, are you ready?

I really don’t know what to say about this boy (Osi) that hasn’t been said over and over and over again already!!!!

    Oh God, Victooooorrrrrr…….Osimhennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
(Let me sound like the stadium announcer for a bit)

His stock keeps rising HIGHER AND HIGHER, I won’t really be shocked if Napoli puts him for sale at over £200m….nnà ehn, WHAT.A.PLAYER!!!!!

Ghana pipu, continue making your mouth oh, hmmmmmmmm….we’re taking down all your names here, one by one 😀

Napoli midfielders are beginning to play with Osihmen. The only person left now is insigie. On several Occasions today he decided to shot from tight angle when he will simply pass to Osihmen to tap in otherwise Osimhen will have scored a hattrick

    • Richie 2 years ago

He actually DID score a hattrick to me!! Technically though, lol…cos that VAR check, to me, wasn’t thorough enough for them to have canceled his deserved third

    • That insigie is ungrateful guy.

Do you know that most of his goals this season are from penalty created by Osimhen.

It’s like Napoli midfielders are now ready to play with Osimhen.

      • 7 goals , 6 penalty and one from open play in serie A so far this season,.

    • I agree with you. He actually scored a third goal but was ruled out for offside.

  • First time I watch VO play without catching my breath, seems he gradually controlling things, throughout the 90minutes there is no unnecessary jump or those lead to injury urgent meaningless run yet he score 2 beautiful goals, soccer sometime is not gragra, reason I love Benzema, next Ghana .

Our strikers are firing warning shots. Body go tell them.

Una go collect wotowoto for una home, then come collect watawata for Naija.

  • Feeling upbeat about Nigerian strikers finding form at the right time. Nigeria should go for the win in Ghana. Use an approach similar to the Egypt game at AFCON. Fast high intensity press and ferocious attacking system. With Simon on left. Chuckwueze/Lookman on the right and Oshimen as striker. With Aina and Zaidu joining the attack too. If Etebo is fit and not match rusty I will go with an Etebo, Aribo, Amoo midfield. Ndidi injury is a minor setback . SE should both be careful but attack Ghana with ferocity. The first half of that encounter will be critical. Ghana will be nervous first 20-50mins and that should be the time SE should kill of the game. Attack, attack, attack and of course mass defense as well. Bang in a couple goals that first half then go counter attack mode second half and use Oshimens pace to wreck them some more on counterattacks. If SE does puts in the hard work and coach adopts right mentality and tactics. Could seal qualification in Ghana and the Abuja game will just be to add to the tally or hold them off.

WARNING: if the SE doesn’t kill off the game early or come with a lackadaisical, casual approach the longer the game stays tied or 0-0 the Ghanaians will begin to gain confidence. Try hard kill of the game early and put Ghana under more pressure. That’s when they will start making mistakes and can then take them to the cleaners and qualify in style. At worst with a slim margin but the SE has quality to win by several goals with the correct approach

    Baba Yara.
    Mama Yara.
    Pikin sef dey Yara.
Big wahala go shele YARA YARA in Kumasi come March 25th.
All the noise makers coming here with their empty boasts and insults, there will be no hiding place for them on the day of reckoning. They will beg the ground to open up and cover them, but the ground will refuse.
Ghana, get ready. The Super Eagles are coming to town!

  • Golden Child 2 years ago

I sincerely fear for the black stars, they could be over run quickly.having said that, they have a fighters chance, which is why the SE need to stay grounded and humble. There is too much quality in this team, we have players on the waiting list let alone bench that Ghana would be licking their lips for and would start for them. There is guile, pace all over the pitch. It is hard to see how Ghana will come through this match unscathed.

Ask any honest Ghanian, and they are petrified at the thought of playing the SE now.The fanatical fans who are hoping for an upset are only clutching to past victories. What they forget to add is that during the period of dominance they had better players. Ghana topped the afcon qualifying stage ahead of Nigeria when they had the mesmerizing abedi ayew pele, Anthony yeboah, Anthony baffoe , Prince opoku polley etc. The team would go on to defeat Nigeria at Senegal 92. In 2022, GHana does not have that quality. The only quality player is Tom partey.

Undoubtedly, Nigeria should carry the day. Go SE!

    • Selfmade KING 2 years ago

U ll be humble comes the 25th tho

    • Every juju and black magic planted or strategized in Baba Yara.Kumasi or whatever the name of the stadium is thereby nullified and destroyed by the power in the blood of Jesus Christ. Amen. Fetish rubbish. Spit

  • What I noticed about Super Eagles is that they play better when they have strong opponent.

They only fumble when they under rate their opponent.

I don’t see them underage ghana.

All these noise that ghanaians are making is good for Super Eagles. It will make them go with all seriousness.

    God bless Nigeria.

  • Ndubest 2 years ago

Ride on boy! This is just the beginning, hat trick loading. I refuse to comment on our match with Ghana but the signs are pointing on a positive outcome and for noise makers we will see after Friday’s match.

  • Let’s hope for the best. We should beat Ghana but it won’t be easy. Don’t let us raise our hioe too much. I have learned from afcon.

  • Larry 2 years ago

    Great Job Osi 9 !
Scoring 11 goals in 20 matches in the prestigious Serie A is no small feat..

  • Obest 2 years ago

Great Osihmen, You are the best striker ever to come out of Nigeria. Its clear. Even a bloody facial injury can’t stop you. Ghana, Hmmmm, the best you can get in Kumasi is a draw. If Black stars no careful they will loose right there in Kumasi. Pls, I advice all Nigerians in Ghana, don’t open your shop or office on the 25th.Good Luck SE.

  • Ayphillydegreat 2 years ago

The best striker in Africa at the moment. We missed him dearly in Cameroon. Nigeria has lacked that striker with aggressiveness and tenacity since Yekini and Amokachi. The only downturn is that they can be prone to injuries. Now that we have Osimhen Ghana should be ready for war. I’m glad he’s coming to camp fully in form. 4 goals in two matches in Serie A is not Kekey or Banku. Lmao!! #FLY LIKE AN EAGLE INTO BABA YARA#
