Serie A Round 25 Preview: AC Milan Look To Close In On Third With Win Over Empoli

Meanwhile, Roma could move into top four with victory at Frosinone, while Inter face tough test at Fiorentina

With Juventus so far ahead in the title race in Italy’s Serie A, attention is turning to the fight for a place in the top four. On Friday night (22 February) AC Milan look to extend their grip on fourth with a win over Empoli, while the following day AS Roma head to Frosinone. And on Sunday afternoon, Inter Milan face a tricky trip to take on Fiorentina.

First things first

Before you go any further, head on over to the Oddsshark website, find your favourite betting site and get your own account up and running using your credit card. As a new customer and with the Serie A campaign now well over halfway through, there should be a wide range of promotions and special offers available to you.

Where should I be investing my money?

First up, that clash between AC Milan and Empoli on Friday night at the San Siro. The Rossoneri sit fourth in the table and are unbeaten in their last eight league outings – they are priced at just 1.66 to finish the season in the top four and qualify for next season’s edition of the UEFA Champions League.

Empoli, in stark contrast, sit just three points above the relegation zone and find themselves in deep trouble. The side is priced at 2.87 to fall through the trap door into the second tier of Italian club football.

It is therefore of no surprise to see that it is Milan who come into this match as the red hot favourites to take all three points. You can back the home side to win at just 1.36, while Empoli are out at 8.50 to do the same – a draw is priced in the middle at 4.75.

We are expecting this to be a comfortable evening’s work for the Rossoneri. A 3-1 win for Milan is priced competitively at 11.00, thereby offering more than a ten-fold return on any investment, while you can more than triple your money by backing a combo bet of a Milan win, coupled with both teams to score, at 3.10.

Roma look to move into top four with win on the road

The following day, AS Roma head to Frosinone knowing that a win could well put them in the top four, depending on Milan’s result the previous evening, as they head to take on Frosinone. The home side sit next to bottom in the league and have won just three league games all season – they are at just 1.25 to be relegated.

Roma, by way of comparison, are unbeaten in their last seven league outings and are just a point off Milan in fourth. The club from the capital come in at 2.75 to grab a top four spot come the end of the campaign.

And it is of little surprise again to see that it is Roma who are the clear favourites to win this contest. You can back the visitors to collect three valuable points at just 1.44 while Frosinone, despite home advantage, are out at 6.50 to do the same – a draw is priced in the middle at 4.50.

And Roma’s technical quality should shine through here. A narrow, 2-1 win for the visitors is priced at 8.00, meaning that a US$5 bet would lead to a US$40 pay out, while you can almost triple your money by backing a combo bet of a Roma win, coupled with both teams to score, at 2.75.

Inter face tough test at Fiorentina

And finally, Inter Milan face a tricky game when they head to Fiorentina on Sunday afternoon. Fiorentina are unbeaten in eight games across all competitions and come into the match in excellent form.

Inter are also playing well and have won their last three matches across all competitions. They are just seven points behind Napoli as the Nerazzurri look to close in on second place.

And while the betting is tight, it is Inter who come in as the slight favourites to win this clash. You can more than double your money by backing the visitors to make it four wins on the bounce at 2.45, while Fiorentina are only slight above at 2.80 to win – a draw would appear to be the least likely outcome and is priced accordingly at 3.40.

But we think home advantage could play a key factor here. A narrow, 1-0 win for Fiorentina comes in at 9.00, while you can more than quadruple your money by backing a combo bet of a Fiorentina win, coupled with a “No” to both teams scoring, at 4.75.
