Venezia should have opened the scoring after six minutes when debutant Thomas Henry sent Dennis Johnsen clear through the middle, but Marco Silvestri made a decisive save.
But it was Udinese who took the lead on 29 minutes off a counter when Nahuel Molina cross found Ignacio Pussetto who chested and volleyed in with his right boot from 12 yards.
After the restart, Okereke went close to equalizing after dribbling through defenders but forced a fingertip save from Silvestri.
In the 70th minute Udinese doubled their lead through Gerard Deulofeu who turned in a rebound.
And in the 93rd minute Udinese got their third goal through Molina whose smashed effort came off the underside of the bar.
