Manchester United defender, Luke Shaw has reportedly returned to first team training in a major boost to Erik ten Hag ahead of crucial weeks in the 2023/24 season.
The England international has missed the last three months due to a muscular injury, which he sustained during United’s 2-0 loss to Tottenham in August.
According to Daily Mail, Shaw may get some minutes on Sunday afternoon at Goodison Park against Everton after being spotted training with his teammates at Carrington on Wednesday morning.
The news that the 28-year-old is back is much-needed for Ten Hag, as his team have struggled with injuries this campaign.
Before the international break, Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund suffered knocks during the Red Devils’ 1-0 victory over Luton Town, and they were both forced to withdraw from the Denmark national team.
Andre Onana sustained an injury with Cameroon, but he is anticipated to be fit enough to play against Everton.
Tyrell Malacia’s injury has made Shaw’s absence more severe. The 24-year-old Dutchman still hasn’t played this season after he withdrew from the club’s summer tour to the US.

With 21 points heading into the international break, United are seven points behind table-toppers Manchester City and five behind fourth-place Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.
Ten Hag’s side are in for a potentially crucial stretch of matches. Starting with a trip to Everton following that with a Champions League tie against Galatasaray in Istanbul.
With three points garnered in four games, United are at the bottom of Group A, one point fewer than Copenhagen and Galatasaray. The Manchester club need to win to keep alive their narrow chances of qualifying.
It has been a rollercoaster season for the Red Devils, who finished third on the table standings last season and subsequently sealed qualification to the Champions League after they failed to do so the season before.
They also won the Carabao Cup after their impressive 2-0 victory over Newcastle United in the final at the Wembley Stadium.
It remains to be seen if the 20-time English league champions bounce back from their disappointing start and finish strongly by the end of the season.
