Gylfi Sigurdsson is confident Everton will return to top form soon and enjoy a successful end to the season.
The pressure has begun to mount on Marco Silva’s side over recent weeks, as a run of six defeats from their last eight Premier League games has seen them drop well off the pace in the race to secure a top-seven finish.

Iceland international Sigurdsson’s own form has wavered during that time and he was only amongst the substitutes for the recent home defeat to Manchester City, but he remains convinced the Toffees will turn their fortunes around soon.
“We’ve always felt we are doing the right things and we are working hard,” he told the Liverpool Echo. “That’s why it’s so frustrating when you’re not getting the results but I think the team is more than confident of finishing the season off really strongly.”
Despite his recent struggles, Sigurdsson has still enjoyed a productive season in front of goal, netting nine times in the Premier League to date.
The former Tottenham ace’s best goals return in a top-flight season currently stands at 11 – a tally he reached with Swansea during the 2015-16 campaign, but he is convinced he will go beyond that total this term. “I will break it,” he added.
“There are a few more to go before I can eclipse that tally and there is still a way to go. It has been good to score the goals I have but I am targeting that record.”
