Everton midfielder Gyfil Sigurdsson is pleased to see Alex Iwobi settled in quickly at the club following his arrival from Arsenal this summer, Completesports.com reports.
Iwobi has enjoyed a good start to his career with Everton despite the Toffees losing 2-0 to Aston Villa in his debut appearance for the club.
The Nigeria international hit the back of the net once in his first start for the club, in the Carabao Cup 4-2 away win at Lincoln City last month.
He followed that with a headed goal against Wolverhampton Wanderers in his first Premier League start last weekend.
Sigurdsson believes that scoring early for the clubs will boost Iwobi’s confidence as the season progresses.
“Of course, for him (Iwobi), for an attacking player, it’s nice to get that first goal early on,” Sigurdsson told Liverpoolecho.co. uk.
“It’s good for the confidence and all of the other boys, not just him, [with] Fabian [Delph] coming back from injury and Djibril [Sidibe, who made his Everton debut against Lincoln City] there’s good depth in the squad at the moment.
“Hopefully, the boys who have been injured and not in the squad can really push us because we need every player in the squad.”
