Silva Issues Iwobi Challenge

Everton boss Marco Silva wants summer buy Alex Iwobi to continue his goalscoring streak. Iwobi moved to Goodison Park from Premier League rivals Arsenal in the summer in a deal that could cost up to £34million, depending on add-ons.
The Nigeria international grabbed a goal on his first start when Everton overcame Lincoln City 4-2 in the EFL Cup and followed up with a strike in the 3-2 win over Wolves last time out.

The Merseysiders head to Bournemouth on Sunday for their first match after the international break and Silva hopes Iwobi can continue his scoring spree on the south coast. “If you look at our wingers and the players in forward positions, it is something I demand from them,” he told the club website. “Richarlison scored many, many goals last season, Theo [Walcott] scored some. I want more from the other two [Iwobi and Bernard]. “Bernard started the season with a goal in the second game, which was important for him. Alex has done the same thing now.”

Iwobi managed just 15 goals in 149 games during his four years with Arsenal but never truly established himself as a regular at the Emirates Stadium.
Iwobi did manage 22 starts in the Premier League last season for the Gunners but hit just three goals. Silva will be hoping for a better return from the forward this term.
Iwobi featured for Nigeria during the international break in a 2-2 draw against the Ukraine in Dnipro. The 23-year-old was unable to add to his six international goals so far, but did provide the assist for Joe Aribo’s opener for the Super Eagles, who took a 2-0 lead early on before they were pegged back by the hosts.
