Simy Fails To Shine In Salernitana Loss To AC Milan

Super Eagles striker, Simy Nwankwo could not save Salernitana from losing 2-0 to AC Milan in Saturday’s Serie A game.

The Nigerian international, who was making his 15th appearance for Salernitana did little to threatened the AC Milan defence.

The host took an early lead through Franck Kessie’s low drive shot in the 5th minute before Alexis Saelemaekers extended their lead in the 18th minute with a brilliant left foot shot.

Kessie could have netted a brace in the 55th minute but he failed to connect with the ball and wasted a begging opportunity.

Simy was however, replaced in the 61st minute by Federico Bonazzoli after failing to have a positive impact on the match.

The victory push AC Milan to the summit of the Serie A log on 38 points while Salernitana sit bottom on 8 points.

    • Which day have been his Xmas since the turn of the season? The guy Na one season wonder, it baffle me how he drastically drop in form, wonder if this the same simi of last year seria A

At 71% to 29% possession against Simy Salernitana and juxtaposing that with the near 100% passing accuracy of AC Milan, it was going to be a one way traffic sort of game. To be fair to Simy, he wasn’t going to get more than he can offer. Milan is sure a big foot in that direction but he needs to work harder to find an inroads to coach Gernot Rohr’s list if at all he’s remaining SE coach in the current dispensation.

    • My brother, we are talking about number one on the log and number 20 on no different log. How do we even make comparison? I saw the match, I counted 700 passes in favor of Milan to 294 of Simy’s club in the game. Even at that, shot on target was 8 against 2. If I was to do a lengthening odds analysis in their subsequent game, till yrs to come Milan odds would be like 1.23 to 12.60 of Salernitana. My brother, I rather my bet is placed on Milan though with have value worth considering the fact that the odds are small.

Not only in their home games @MONKEY POST, AC Milan goes away to kick whomever ever it wishes. Ask Roma, ask Atletico Madrid, ask Atalanta, ask Bologna, Genoa etc. They pounds on you to kick you out, that’s Milan playing away. @ Alphonso Gbefumu, Rohr already has his list and I have the full conviction that Simy Nwankwo has no place on that list. And really why must it be every player that must be enlisted to the SE? Every weekend you see commentaries on why our coach must include whoever score or provide assist in EPL, Bundesliga, SerieA and or the spanish secunda on SE list, I think there are better comments out there. For the Milan / Salernitana match, I will go with your statistics because these 2 are not even mates in terms of points, possession and work rate. Though I expected Milan to have utilized at least 3 out of the 9 corner opportunities it had. Like the saying, the rest now is history.
