Smith Hoping To Improve Bournemouth’s Consistency

Bournemouth defender Adam Smith says he is ‘sick’ of his team’s inconsistent performances as he tries to help them improve next season.

The Cherries finished 14th in the Premier League as coach Eddie Howe managed to keep his team in the top flight for the fourth year in a row.

However, Bournemouth won just three of their last nine matches as they missed out on a top-ten spot.

Smith was on hand to return from injury for the final two games, with the 28-year-old missing some of the campaign due to a knee problem.

Although most fans are delighted to still be in the Premier League, Smith admits their inconsistent displays are proving too much. He told the Daily Echo: “It was a gutless first half (at Crystal Palace) to be honest.

The second half was much better but it is easy to play football when you are already losing. “That is what our season has been like – just so inconsistent.

We play well one week then the next week it is a different team. “It is something we need to look at next season because personally I am just sick of as a team being inconsistent like that.

It frustrates the manager, the coaching staff and all the other players, so we need to look at it next season.”
