Real Sociedad would like to sign Bournemouth left-back Diego Rico this summer, according to reports. The Cherries signed the 26-year-old from Leganes last summer as boss Eddie Howe ventured more into the European market to sign payers.

However, Rico struggled for game time in the Premier League, only featuring 12 times at that level and failed to displace Charlie Daniels. With Bournemouth having already signed left-sided defender Lloyd Kelly from Bristol City this summer, it appears that Rico’s chances are going to be even more limited this season and he is likely to depart the Vitality Stadium.
Real Sociedad are leading the race for his signature but the reports state as many as eight teams in La Liga could try and snap up the former Real Zaragoza youth player. However, the fee may be a stumbling block as Bournemouth are likely to demand at least 10million euros for the player.
