Solanke Tipped To Come Good

Despite his goal drought at the club there are no worries about the scoring prowess of new signing Dominic Solanke, according to team-mate Nathan Ake.

The 22-year-old arrived from Liverpool in the summer for a fee of around £17.5m and was one of boss Eddie Howe’s major purchases as he looked to strengthen the Cherries’ squad for the coming season.

He shone in pre-season, scoring twice for the Cherries, but as yet, has not been able to reproduce that sort of form in the Premier League and is yet to find the back of the net in a competitive match despite making four starts for the club.

The former England Under-21 ace has not yet been able to transfer his prolific scoring record from the young international sides, 36 goals for the Three Lions from Under-16 level to Under -21, into the senior teams he has played for with just one goal in 44 games covering Chelsea, Liverpool and latterly Bournemouth.

Despite that drought his former academy team-mate at Stamford Bridge, and now club team-mate at Bournemouth, Ake says he has no doubt he will come good given enough time playing alongside Callum Wilson up front.
Ake said: “It will come. I think no-one is really worried about that, I think it will come, 100 per cent.”

Ake claims Solanke is working hard behind the scenes and that you can see it will not be long before he starts banging in the goals for the Cherries in the top flight. “You can see it in training every day and you could see it when he was younger at Chelsea, the technical ability he has and the goalscoring ability he has is of a great level,” Ake added.

Solanke will be hoping he gets another start when the Cherries are in Premier League action on Friday night in front of the live TV cameras when they take on south coast rivals Southampton away from home.
