South Africa Coach Unveils Provisional Squad For AFCON 2023

Bafana Bafana of South Africa head coach Hugo Broos has released his provisional squad for next year’s AFCON in Côte d’Ivoire.

The squad was announced on South Africa Football Association (SAFA) website on Thursday.

Broos announced a 50-man preliminary squad that will be trimmed to 23 players in the beginning of the new year shortly before departure to the West African country.

The Belgian charges will assemble for camp on 4 January 2024 and then travel to Stellenbosch for a training camp that will be held in the Western Cape city until 9 January 2024.

Bafana Bafana will then play a training match against Lesotho behind closed doors at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville before departing for Côte d’Ivoire on 11 January 2024.

The 1996 AFCON winners are in the same group with the Super Eagles in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Both teams will meet on matchday three of the World Cup qualifiers in Uyo on June 2024.

The 34th edition of the AFCON will be held in Côte d’Ivoire from 13 January to Sunday 11 Feb 2024.

Teranga Lions of Senegal are the champions after beating Egypt on penalty shootout in the 2021 final.

Since Eguavoen became the technical director of NFF, the era of making public the provisional lists of our national teams came to a sordid end.

Even lists for invitation for qualifiers became a 4-days-to-opening-of-camp matter.

I heard on a radio station that the team will consists of ten no 9 guys , one midfielder and 5 attacking defenders.with no trusted keeper . And nobody to cross or do the dirty job in a game.
Just like previous team there is okocha. Amocakchi oliseh finidi babangida to do the hard work den for yekini.
Now we only have yekini and dey are 10 in nuba ..even ndidi is joining the scoring list not to talk of ihaenacho boniboni, iwobi, oshimen, chukeze ,Simon ,lookman ,Sadiq ,moffi,ajayi,.. even aina wil come score .and onyeka,na only bassey go dey back and d keeper aribo wil just be running up and down
Conclusion if Madagascar dey our group again dey wil score with counter before 75mins with this paraded names
Defender from clubs from eyimba rivers shud come on board this team just like keshi did with 2013 team .

No home-based in the SE squad, no AFCON trophy for Eagles, this I have learnt from Experience.
