Southampton Set For Summer Bowen Swoop

Southampton are reportedly lining up a summer move for highly-rated Hull City forward Jarrod Bowen.

Bowen, who moved to Hull from Hereford United in 2014, scored 14 goals from 42 Championship appearances last season and he has already managed to better that tally in the current campaign.

The 22-year-old notched his 17th and 18th strikes of the season in the 2-0 home victory over Birmingham City on Saturday, putting the Tigers within four points of the final play-off position, which is currently held by Bristol City.

It is thought the forward will definitely leave the KCOM Stadium this summer if Hull fail to achieve promotion to the Premier League and there are a number of teams showing an interest in his services.

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a £20million bid but Spurs are set to face competition from Southampton, who are still battling to retain their top-flight status.

Ralph Hasenhuttl is eager to bring in some bright, youthful attacking options and Bowen is believed to have ticked all the boxes, with the Austrian manager hoping a deal can be wrapped up.
