Spalletti: Osimhen Not Interested In Manchester United Transfer

Napoli head coach Luciano Spalletti has said Victor Osimhen will not leave the club for Manchester United as he is interested in playing in the UEFA Champions League.

Osimhen has been linked with a move to Manchester United with Cristiano Ronaldo expected to move to the opposite direction on loan.

United are reportedly willing to offer Napoli €100m for the Nigeria international.

Spalletti however insisted that the forward will remain at the club this summer.

“Osimhen gave his response, via his agent, saying he wants to play the Champions League and he wants to play it with this squad,” Spalletti was quoted by Football Italia.

“He cares about his teammates, he chases down opposition players to help out and is a very strong focal point in attack. Having him at our disposal with that mentality is the best we could ask for.”

The 23-year-old has scored two goals and recorded one assist in three league appearances for the Partenopei this season.

With the way Napoli played yesterday, osimhen better runs for his life, they will kill his career, if he scores up to 20 goals this season it will be a miracle. Osimhen’s greatest strength are his movement and positioning, speed, jumping ability, these qualities are elite i swear, best of the best i have seen, its supposed to be very easy to find him in great scoring positions, but those players would rather pass the ball backwards, they would rather balloon the ball to him for hold up rather than play it in behind. No matter how good you are at hold up play, you are going up against defenders that are beasts, thats why they are defenders, because they are very physical too, so physicality cuts physicality, use his pace now, they can’t even get crosses in, against any decent side, they will struggle. We have all seen man utd play, haaland should be scared if that move materializes, the MAJOR has said his facts

  • Oshimen…if you are playing football for me abeg no think an twice carry dey go manU. but, if you dey play for development and steady growth and passion stay at NAPOLI…Where they see you as king and they worship you

    • like what Major said above…i was pissed of at what I saw in NAPOLI’S game yesterday…. maybe it’s becasue the season has just began…the coach should address those selfish played wihtnessed yesterday…

I thought I was the only one who noticed the selfish play. I had envisage this trend will end after insignie left but it seems it has come to stay. Is it the coaches strategy to use Osihmen as a decoy for midfielders to Score off the space created by Osihmens runs or is it that the players are jealous of Osimhen? Time will tell

Boy runs endlessly and is starved of Final Balls. I feel pity for him but Manu is even worst.
