There must be a set standard for any player to be invited to S.E especially with the avalanche of players available for selection. Number one criterion is that the player must be playing in a premier league in a top five league. I’m a big fan of Umar Sadiq. Let him move to an upper league and prove himself before being considered for S.E .

    • This is not advisable. Time may come when you might be forced to ditch such a policy due to unexpected contingencies like player unavailability.

  • Sadiq umar has been scoring goals for years now his talent has never been in doubt. He wasn’t playing for a top 5 league when coach Rohr invited him months back. If not for his club that blocked his coming who knows he might have been a regular for the team (super eagles) but I believe his time will come. As long as he keeps banging in the goals and keeps playing regularly he will get his chance in the Super Eagles soon.

  • It’s not really about where he plays but the way he scores his goals. Just like a normal Nigerian striker. He has the quality tonplay for eagles notwithstanding where he plays.

In my own view, this how I believe the striker role in eagle s should look like very soon

    Oshimen
    Umar sodiq
    Awoniyi
    Onuachu
    Moffi

I did not put iheanacho because I don’t always see him as a 9 for us. What Rogers said recently is thrash. He can’t know iheanacho more than us. Iheanacho does well when he is not the main focus of defenders. The reason why he does well with Vardy. At under 17, he did well with. Success and awoniyi.

Bro, did you forget Cyriel Dessers. That guy is a good striker. He was just unlucky to break through at Genk because of Onuachu goal exploit but the limited time he plays, he always did well now at Feyenoord he has scored 2 to 3 goals in just few minutes when all combined not sure it’s up to 90 minutes in total. I think he can replace Moffi in your list of strikers.

  • Dessers may be good but I don’t see him getting an invite to the National team anytime soon with the calibre of strikers ahead of him in the National team.
