The striker made history as the third African to achieve the remarkable feat.
Olatunji stated that his goal is to wear the green and white colour of Nigeria.
“It is a big goal for any young player, especially for us Nigerians. We are proud to play for our country. Just wearing a green jersey and an eagle emblem will give a player motivation,” he said in an interview with Blesk.
“He will realize that he represents a country of more than 220 million people. And that makes him work with all his heart.”

Apart from Victor Olatunji of Sparta Prague in Czech Republic, there are other players who deserve Super Eagles chance. They include Tolu Arokodare and Yira Sor, both of KRC Genk (Belgium),Akor Adams of Montpelier HSC,France and Uche Chrisantus of Getafe CF (Spain),Onuche Ogbelu of Esperanza, (Tunisia), Ibrahim Buhari of IF Elfsborg(Sweden) and Obinna Nwobodo pf FC Cincinnati (USA). Hamzat Ojediran of RC Lens(France) and Igoh Ogbu of Slavia Prague (Czech Republic) may be currently nursing injuries but they have also done enough this season to also be considered for Supers Eagles call up.
My pick from the players on your list is Hamzat Ojediran who has impressed me so much..Igho Ogbu another great talent.
Back on the subject,Sparta Prague Olatunji has been consistent in Europe but need to move to western Europe to gain recognition..
Unfortunately, the likes of Igho Ogbu and a few others doing well in Eastern Europe may suffer to get international invitations on the ground of the leagues they feature.
If I were Eguavoen I will gamble on Olatunji to come in as study to Osimhen and Boniface respectively. Our senior man Iheanacho is struggling both internationally and at his Spanish club I think he should focus on club football until he’s back in form likewise Awoniyi both should leave getting called until they prove at their respective club they’re ready for international football..
@ Green turf,I agree with you that the duo of Kelechi Iheanacho and Taiwo Awoniyi should be allowed to become more consistent in front of goal before their further invitation to the national team.
However, I don’t agree with you that Victor Olatunji is a better striker than the duo of Tolu Arokodare (KRC Genk Belgium) and Akor Adams (Montpelier HSC France) who both share 11 goals in the Belgian Jupiler League and the French Lique 1. Akor and Tolu deserve their chance in place of the current Super Eagles strikers who have lost form.
