The Management of Sportsville Communication Services Ltd, has announced the elevation of Mr Mathew Okugbe as the Chief Operating Officer of the company. Mr Okugbe was formerly the Head, Reportorial/Production of the company.
His elevation was announced on Tuesday by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the organisation, Mr Frank Ilaboya.
Part of the letter reads. “It’s my pleasure to inform you of your elevation to the post of Chief Operating Officer of our organisation, which is as a result of your commitment and dedication to the progress of the company.
“The Board of Directors and the Management have been monitoring your progress since you joined us in 2017, and are confident to offer you a bigger responsibility with effect from April, 2024.”
Mathew Okugbe, a graduate of Mass-communication has had a few stints with TVC and Synovus Media before joining Sportsville as a reporter in-training in 2017.
Okugbe’s dedication to work has seen him rise to the position of Reporter/Presenter of the organisation’s radio sports programs and taking charge of the entire production process of the organisation.

Last year, he was given the opportunity to anchor the company’s premium show, Sportsville on Channels Television.
His new position means he has the responsibility of overseeing the entire production process of the organisation as well as initiating innovation to drive growth.
Sportsville, one of Nigeria’s longest airing independent programs, started on NTA Channels 10 in 2001, and has since moved on to over 16 stations in Nigeria. The program debuted on the Award-winning Channels Television in 2005 and has been waxing stronger ever since.
