Nigeria forward Stephen Odey has celebrated FC Zurich 2-1 win in the first leg of their Swiss Cup quarter-final tie against SC Kriens at the Stadion Letzigrund, Zurich on Thursday, reports Completesports.com.
Salim Khelifi opened scoring for FC Zurich in the 16th minute but Saleh Chihadeh equalised for the visitors a minute before the break.
Andrian Winter scored the winning goal for the home team seven minutes from time.
The scoreline would have been more emphatic for the hosts but for the bravery of Nigerian- born goalkeeper of Kriens, Sebastien Osigwe who made a number of vital saves in the game.
Odey who put up a fine performance in the game was also denied a couple of times by Osigwe.
”Had a chance to score yesterday but was denied by the brilliancy of Sebastian Osigwe, the goalkeeper of SC Kriens. He was brilliant in goal but we won 2-1. Now we are one step in the semifinal of the Swiss Cup. #HappyNewMonth #fcz #TeamKashamadupe,”Odey tweeted on Friday.
Odey who started the game was replaced by Andreas Maxsø three minutes from time.
The 21-year-old has scored three goals in four appearances for FC Zurich in the Swiss Cup.
The 21-year-old has also scored seven times and provided two assists in 22 league appearances for FC Zurich this season.

Good to see Sebastian Osigwe getting a run out for Kriens. The one time Flying Eagles goalie (same squad as Jamilu Collins and Semy Ajayi)has been touted as a possible for the Super Eagles, but has spent much of this season on the bench in the Swiss second division side
