Success Ends Goal Drought, Bags 9th Assist Of Season As Udinese Draw At Bologna

Isaac Success was on target and provided an assist for Udinese who held hosts Bologna to a 2-2 draw, in the Serie A on Sunday.

It was Success’ first league goal since scoring on 27 October 2021, in a 1-1 home draw against Verona.

Also, Success bagged his seventh assist in the league and ninth in all competitions for Udinese this season.

The goal against Bologna was his second in 20 league appearances so far this term.

Success set up Italy-born Nigerian defender Destiny Udogie to draw Udinese level in the 25th minute.

One minute into the second half he then put Udinese 2-1 ahead before Nicola Sansone equalized for Bologna in the 59th minute.

Udinese are currently in 12th spot on 40 points in the league table.

    Good for him.

  • Wow! Nine assists in twenty two games equates to almost 1 assist per 2 games this season in Italy for Isaac Success.

If Doctor Banks refuses to coronate you with the crown of ‘King of Assists’, perhaps he will be comfortable to place you as the Prince of assists.

    Keep it up Success.

If he were a midfielder i will be over the moon but he is a striker and they are rated by the number of goals they score.

@Deo I hear you o my brother, I tank I can manage to agree with the title “Prince of Assist” as you rightly pointed out. Wishing him more vigour to score more goals bro

For me, Success has played himself into the next SE list. Unless his performances nosedive dramatically.
He’s been churning out great performances of late. It would be very strange if the lad is excluded from the next SE list.
Scored a beauty against Bologna today. Love the chest control, before firing in a left footer. Calm and composed in front of goal. Also look at his hold up play. Top notch. Look at the way he set up Udogie’s goal, and the way he links up with Udinese players around him. Delightful one-touch passing and intelligent movement. It’s undeniable. He’s a great option to play alongside Osimhen, or to compete with Osimhen for the top nine role, along with Dessers. These 3 for me are the sure bankers for the next SE list.
Let’s just hope Success stays injury free. Let’s also hope Dessers is still willing to play for Nigeria, after the shoddy way he was treated. Finally, we hope Osimhen will get better at recognizing the right time to play bicycle kicks.
If we can just get a quality coach.

  • I would call SUCCESS up into the national team because I feel he plays a more laid back role up front in that he drops deep and creates chances for the rest of the team, no wonder he has so many assists.
If he comes back to the super eagles he can partner osimhen since he create opportunities or lead the attack. If he still as strong as I remember he will bulldoze every defender out of his way. He is surely one to consider. I hope he stays in italy and continue improving his game and regaining his confidence.
