Sparta Rotterdam goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has been ruled out Nigeria’s 2022 FIFA World Cup playoff against Ghana Completesports.com reports.
Okoye will miss the two-legged qualifiers due to illness.
Interim technical adviser Augustine Eguavoen has extended invitation to Enyimba goalkeeper John Noble to join the team.
Noble is expected in camp on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Leicester City winger Ademola Lookman will arrive camp on Wednesday.
There were fears over Lookman’s availability for the games after he missed Leicester City’s 2-1 win against
Brentford on Sunday due to illness.
The former Everton player is now in line to make his debut for the Super Eagles after the Nigeria Football Federation confirmed his readiness for the qualifiers.
20 players are already in the team’s camp in Abuja.
Three more players; Victor Osimhen, Umar Sadiq and Akinkunmi Amoo are due to arrive Abuja later on Tuesday (today).

Good talk omo9ja, I have never been in support of Agu bcos I remember his performance back in the 90’s and early 2000,he is not a good goal keeper at all, Rufai is 100 percent far better than him but I don’t know why NFF kept him there, am very sure he has a godfather in the glass house (NFF)
You people should try and reason with small sense na, can you point to one just one keeper Rufai, Shorunmu or Enyeama has produced. That a keeper is good in between the sticks does not necessarily make him a good keeper trainer or keeper manufacturer for crying out loud. Agree that Agu has not done a good job does far but exaggerating names with no content is really sickening.

If Okoye is unavailable then Uzoho should man the post against Ghana. He is a proven, confident goal keeper. He has the experience and recall the friendly between Argentina and Nigeria, where Akpeyi was so poor that a Messi-less Argentina scored 2 quick 1st half goals in pre 2018 WC friendly.
When Uzoho came in the 2nd half Argentina could not score a single goal and Nigeria went on to beat Argentina 4-2. Infact I have more confidence in Uzoho than even Okoye for this match, even without been a regular player at his club. Eguavoen and the crew should practice and use Uzoho if Okoye is not available.

The truth is that the present day handlers of the super eagles are not doing much as regards scouting of players,most of the players they are using are scouted by our former coach,there is a guy called chituru odunse,he is a young goalkeeper with Leicester city.
I honestly feel like Nigerians are the reason for this young boy falling ill for this game because of all the backlash he recieved after AFCON I would not blame him if he decided to stay away alot of people were really harsh on him. It was not nice to see. Now we have been dealt another blow. Because he was really reaching good form in Netherlands. Maybe it is good for him to focus on Club for now and regain his spirit come World Cup he will be very sharp.

Usoho played last weekend in his club. This to me is a blessing in disguise. I have never believed okoye is better than uzoho presently.. though he is playing I. His club but he still lacks the confidence and experience for suoer eagles. With time he may come good. But I always prefer uzoho. My ow. Opinion though.

Okoye contacted Corona virus, he was tested positive in the airport (Holland ) en route to Abuja. Wish him the best. Uzoho will be a good back up.
