14 players in camp 8 days to a major tournament…… Jan 3rd should be the deadline but all we have is half of the team. Funny thing is that Nigeria sometimes do well with shabby preparations and when the least is expected but honestly I’m not expecting much this time around….. I do want them to do well but all the factors leading up to the tournament doesn’t point to a favorable outing…

Said Mane played against Mendy yesterday and that same night both were in the same flight to go join up with the Senegalese teaM but out own “superstars” are taking their sweet time..

      • Footballfanatic 2 years ago

        On the same flight**

      • Baddest 2 years ago

Exactly my point why must our average seniormen amd midfield demons be forming big boys, while other nations are finalizing their preparations, the are still in the uk probably enjoying themselves with different women

Remember the quote of the week by Raneri, “Suddenly they changed coach and everything changed.” It seems the motivation is quite low for the players.

First of all you can’t fault the players. This shabby plan was agreed between Caf and the Fifa, which i don’t think will apply if it was an European tournament. And the logisitcs of travelling has to be factored in. So don’t come here and be faulting players. Sane and Mendy could have hired a flight to Senegal or there FA arranged one for them.

We still do not have up to 20 players in camp? Under Rohr, players reported early to camp. Well, what do I know. Hopefully, before the end of tomorrow, more players would troop in

      • Steve O 2 years ago

Please get Rohr out of your stream, he is now a past tense,at least we have new boys in the team unlike Rohr!!

  • Chukwueze played tonight so won’t be joining the Eagles’s camp until tomorrow. That’s the situation, can’t really do anything about it.

Feel so disappointed that a lot of our UK based players are yet to connect to their flight to Abuja. Could it be because they don’t have jet.

    • Greenturf 2 years ago

They probably may see no reason to travel to Abuja today and next day to Cameroon when they can travel straight to Cameroon tomorrow to join up with their compatriots.
Hopefully,we should have a full house on Thursday,apparently,5 days to our opening game against the Pharaohs of Egypt so it should be alright for professional players who aren’t strange to each other.

@Fidel_enny Dem say fire burn Reverend Father, you come dey ask whether e burn him bia bia… LMAO!! From their snailish reporting to camp/ low turnout can’t you tell that the morale and the fire is no longer there under “their own” as it use to be under the fatherly GENERAL ROHR??

How many African players have private jet first of?. or did mane use his jet to join up with his teammates? So please don’t bring the issue of owning a jet here…

Those fools (NFF) don’t know that discipline, unity, and keeping players happy are the major hallmark of a good team. Is not all about you must play tikitaka or win two, five zero.. once players are happy everything will gradually be falling in place…

    • Steve O 2 years ago

You people have started your Rohr nonsense !!as far as Nigeria is concern Rohr was a failure .Is only unprofessional players that will use because of sacking of a coach to have low moral , after all Chelsea brought a new coach and he won champions league in less than three months!!..Those players who doesn’t measure up due to Rohr will be shipped out soonest and they won’t make it to the world cup also , Afcon is a test run for the world cup , thank God we have enough replacement profile to go with . Now we have a new coach , new method and a new beginning , only professionals are needed in this team !!

  • A lot of fringe players, can we make it out of our group because we don’t have the players

  • MONKEY POST 2 years ago

@Greenturf don’t you think that would not foster togetherness, unity and team spirit?? All players are supposed to report to the camp irrespective of your worth and then in oneness move to Cameroon…

If it was GENERAL ROHR time as coach, by now like 24 players would be in camp waiting for just 3 or 4 players to go….

    • Greenturf 2 years ago

I don’t think it would have been different under Rohr.Clubs aren’t gonna release their players so easily. Most countries going to the nations cup are in the same boat.
Most teams in major European leagues will release their players after this weekends game so hopefully within the next couple of days we should have a full camp.

    • Current situation would have occurred under Rohr, there was mutual agreement between CAF and FIFA to extend deadline for the release of African players. No sentiment my brother

    • Abdul 2 years ago

Oga stop this Rohr thing abeg. This is the time to get behind the team.

  • Sunnyb 2 years ago

Don’t worry guys our serial bench warmers in UK will report to camp by Friday

  • @Greenturf thank you for saying the truth

  • Ako AMADI 2 years ago

Hurrah! The Super Eagles camp SWELLS! OK, at least we have 11 players which is a team. Nigeria can now fly to Garoua and the rest of the players can meet the team there, should they be interested. Otherwise Pinnick and Dare can play in defence!

  • Ayphillydegreat 2 years ago

Awaziem is injured hopefully it’s nothing serious. Omeruo just test positive for covid. Our defense is in shambles. Maybe it’s time for Olisah Ndah to take the baton. And I believe Paseiro is there to observe the situation.

    • pompei 2 years ago

Now will they go and dobale for Bassey and Akpoguma? Lolz.
      Wahala dey.

      • Mercy 2 years ago

Five SE players were tested positive but as at today 4 among them has tested negative.

    • Greenturf 2 years ago

There would be lots of covid cases hence the expanded squad lists. So Nigeria is not alone.
At least we have Semi Ajayi,Ekong and Ndah available in the central defence.
Every player called upon should be equal to the task otherwise the coach who left the likes of Akpoguma and Bassey will be held responsible.

  • Chibuike 2 years ago

Our players already know that NFF is joking and corupt. Don’t be surprise NFF still owning those guys outstanding bonuses and sacking of a coach in few weeks to nations Cup is unwise decision.

  • ABDULRAZAK 2 years ago

We are a funny lot in this country. Players are still been owed match bonuses for games played eons ago and you expect them to report to camp with plastic smiles on their faces? Just as the NFF has taken it’s time to pay, they will also report to camp at their convenience!

  • Dotun Agboade 2 years ago

Nigeria is a nation with many coaches but we fail to look inwards at the attitude of our players,Abumeyang was late to training he was removed as captain of Arsenal when did our captain report to camp and yet no reprimand and how press would blame the NFF for bad preparation even our players clubs know that our players value them more than the country, we say they are not been paid bonus in time yet we see other players of other African countries doing charitable work for their countries and this playershould play for bigger clubs but ours are bigger and when they fail they blame the NFF,I know the NFF have their blames but our players are not committed and before you know some press men would say home based players can you compare our league with the North Africans we need a lot of surgery for our football to grow back to the 1994 Eagles
