Super Eagles: NFF Debunks Renard Link

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has dispelled reports it has established contact with Herve Renard for the vacant Super Eagles coaching job.

Reports emerged on Monday that the NFF has opened talks with the Frenchman to take charge of the Super Eagles.

A top official of the soccer house has now denied the claim.

“This report is inaccurate. We’ve not contacted Renard or his representatives ” the official told BBC Africa.

Renard is expected to quit his role as head coach of the French women national team at the end of the 2024 Olympic Games.

The 55-year-old is eager to return to Africa, where he has achieved great success.

Renard led Zambia to win the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations and also repeated the same feat with Cote d’Ivoire in 2015.

The NFF is looking for a new coach for the Super Eagles following Finidi George’s resignation from the post.

A new coach is expected to be in place before the Super Eagles begin the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in September.

  • You see the mumu federation we have. I Hope they have learned not to be too open like they did with Saka,Eze and Tomori Switch attempts, and they are doing it quietly but effectively behind the scenes.

Come NFF this is the coach we Nigerians want a proven champion won AFCON with an average Zambia squad, and gave the title to Cote De Ivorie’s Goleden generation in their twilight. something they couldn’t achive in their prime before he arrived. If NFF dont reason well and one of our rivals snap him up and that may comeback to h

WHY IS IT THAT MOST OF OUR THINGS IN NIGERIA ARE NOT RIGHT. WE CLAIM TO BE GIANT OF AFRICA, BUT IT IS A SHAME THAT WE CANNOT HOST AFCON COMPETITION MORE THAN TWO TIMES. EVEN WHEN WE HOSTED IT SECOND TIME, IT IS JOINT HOSTED WITH GHANA. WHAT A SHAME.
** NOW IT IS TIME HIRE COACH. WHAT A SHAME THAT NFF CANNOT HIRE HERVE RENARD OR ANOTHER WORLD CLASS COACH THAT KNOWS ABOUT AFRICAN FOOTBALL.

I wrote a long post in response to this topic and accidentally deleted it while trying to post!
    Unbelievable! Truly shambolic!
There is just no way that I am spending another 5 minutes re-writing all of that! So hey-ho hahaha!

  • Bomboy 3 weeks ago

I will be pleasantly surprised if the NFF can hurr s coach anywhere near the standard and status of Mr. Renard.

Our NFF do not have the desire and pedigree to attract such a high profile coach.

    Please NFF, prove me wrong!

Prove to doubters like me that you have what it takes to manage the Super Eagles and lead Nigerian football to higher heights!

  • Bomboy 3 weeks ago

Na people like Ladan Bosso and Finidi NFF dey hire.

  • They want people like siasia, amunike

  • MONKEY POST 3 weeks ago

Last week Saturday I made a passionate appeal to the nff on my Facebook n Instagram page tagging them that they should hire renard… please nff make this dream a reality.. please….

  • Dr. Drey 3 weeks ago

So NFF knows how to debunk false news…?
    I never knew.

NFF and Herve Renhard can never coexist in the same sentence. Who wants to work in a country where he would be owed for at least 6 months annually….?

Moreover Nigeria is already out of the 2026 WC…no coach with pedigree will take a job that will taint his hard earned reputation

  • See how this mumu NFF quickly debunk something nice and what we all craving for, gist that came up yesterday, they’ve already debunk it today, now it’s obvious those mumu at that glass house are allergy to good news. Abi kini gbogbo katikati yii?

  • Chief of Naval Staff Arara Kumbie 3 weeks ago

We don’t need Harve Renard. Paul Put will be far better.

  • Commissioner of Police Arara Kumbie 3 weeks ago

    Some people want Siasia.

  • Bernard 3 weeks ago

Nff doing what they know how to do best, nominating top class coaches when they know too well that come August they will settle for Emmanuel Amunike

  • Omo9ja 3 weeks ago

NFF doesn’t like better thing and this is why they debunked the news.

I said it on this forum few weeks ago that is either Herve Rohr or Siasia or nothing.

If NFF says they can’t hire Renard because of money then they shouldn’t be serving Nigeria.

If Ivory Coast and Zambia were able to hired Renard, NFF should be ashamed of themselves. Fingers crossed. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!

  • pompei 3 weeks ago

Omo9ja said he needs HERVE ROHR.
    Hahahahaha!
    Rohr don show you shege.
You refuse to acknowledge Rohr, yet his name is never far from your mouth.

  • pompei 3 weeks ago

Oya, all you esteemed GENETIC ENGINEERS, please it’s time to put your skills to work.
Your assignment, if you choose to accept it:
Collect a DNA sample each from Herve and Gernot, and combine them so we have a new, unique, all conquering coach named HERVE ROHR.
Or shall we call him GERNOT RENARD?
Kudos to Omo9ja for pointing us in this rather bizarre direction. Ire ooo!

    • Omo9ja 3 weeks ago

Ahahaha. Honestly, I didn’t see that, my mistake. Rohr is an average coach but NFF made him a superhero. Super Eagles still have unfinished job against Benin under Oga Rohr.

Pompei, blame nobody but the Nigeria Football Federation for not putting the interest of Nigerians first. I still believe Nigeria will qualify if we put things in place but the way it is, NFF is dragging Super Eagles back every day.

Siasia and Herve Renard will be available in September. The two gentlemen can work together.

If NFF doesn’t go for Herve Renard then Sia1 is the best to put things together.

Finidi is not part of the best local coaches. So blame nobody for the failure of the Eagles but the debtors ajewomasan NFF. For this reason, Ęlọfọkanbalę. God is in control. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!

      • Dr. Drey 3 weeks ago

Do your local coaches even qualify as average….?!

If not for the racist in you, why will you not tolerate an “average” foreign coach for the SE yet clamor for just any and every local coach….including a Joseph Yobo who hasn’t even coached a high school team nor bagged the lowest of all coaching baddest yet.

So now that your brain has been reset by G.Rohr, you suddenly recall the only the “best” in a certain Category of coaches deserve the job…..LMAOoo

NFF didn’t make Rohr a Super Hero….he made himself one by using the same tools your best local coaches used to fail woefully to become a hero under a very toxic work environment created by the same NFF. The last time I checked, Benin republic football is not governed by the NFF

        • Omo9ja 3 weeks ago

Drey, talking to you is like I am wasting my time. You remember that I asked you a question about what Oshimen did to Finidi and your replies showed your level.

Since that day, I decided not to reply you because you lacks all the good qualities a parent or a human being should have. I don’t have
your time. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!

          • Dr. Drey 3 weeks ago

Look at this waste of life…! This shameless double-mouthed heap of lies really thinks I demand a reply from him…LMAOoo

Is it you, the evil hand behind the backwardness bedevilling our football, that has good qualities of a parent or human being…? LMAOooo.

Your comments here already reveal what a low-IQed lowlife you are. It would have been better if you where thrown into the evil forest where you belong.

Osimhen should have kept quiet while your incompetent tin-god rubbished his name in the eyes of 200m Nigerians in order to save his job.

Go and hang yourself because I didn’t raise my children to be butt-licking cry-puppies like you who cannot defend the name and intergrity of their fore-fathers.

Even Omo9ja can detect your sickness. You think insulting people from the blue will change the real you? Sorry o!

  • Edoman 3 weeks ago

@pompei. l couldn’t agree more. l have since asked our maker to intervene between those who misdirected, conjured, hoodwinked and put us to this present bottom of shame that Nigeria football have found itself in the committee of footballing Nations of the World. It will not end well with all those involved. omo9ja and with his cohorts included.

    • Omo9ja 3 weeks ago

@Edoman, back to sender. Can’t you see that NFF has nothing to offer us?

We have a lot of incompetent people serving Nigeria and you are expecting good things from them?

Can’t you direct your anger to the NFF instead of me or we patriotic Nigerians that helping you people to take Nigeria back from our bad leaders?

NFF are not serious and they are confused at the moment. If not, we shouldn’t be talking about who will be the next coach of the Super Eagles by now.

The next thing you will hear is, NFF will tell us that they are in talk with a foreign coach who has no direction or any tangible records. Just like they brought Paseiro and Oga Rohr to Nigeria.

So, if you can not fix it then don’t break it Edoman. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!

NFF has boxed itself into a corner. What credible fans have warned against over the years have occured. People who saw tomorrow were ignored. Many ignorant fellows were shouting themselves hoarse: With the quality of payers we have, Our Own can manage this team. They labelled Rohr who qualified the SE for 2 WC PE trainer. Peseiro got AFCON silver only to be insulted. Now, our own cannot even beat Benin republic! Everyman is running helter skelter in the glass house, except do one thing: resign.

Finidi should thank Osimhen for giving him the opportunity to quit. Osimhen’s rant was in order. It was not directed to Finidi. It was directed at NFF. Those who analyzee issues superficially were blaming him, calling for his ban. Really? What would the other players do? Osi was speaking their minds.

Many unknown Our Own journeymen are already lining up. Let them try it.

Nigeria cannot afford a world-class coach. Yet we are sitting on money. Keep your money and forget soccer.

Excellent assessment from @KangA only a few REALLY understand what’s going on others are busy shouting without actually seeing the big picture or the writing on the wall.
