The game against the Indomitable Lions is the Super Eagles’ third international game in 2021 – with their last two outings being qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Toni Conceicao’s men clash with the three-time African kings for the second time in two years. Rohr’s team had the upper hand in their last encounter at the 2019 Afcon Round of 16 encounter in Alexandria.

  • so nice. Nigeria is a great nation. May the goodness of God; the creator of heaven and earth be with us in Jesus name.

    God bless Nigeria.

  • Halo all hope your preparing yourselves for the game tomorrow. Some new players will be capped tomorrow most likely and I hope they give a good account of themselves. With that said, I feel we need to look at the areas of the team where we are short of personnel. Not for the friendly games, no, its too late to do anything about the team selection now, i mean for future games. The super eagles have a lot of players in various positions thanks to the influx of talented players into the team. The goal keeping department is stocked with 3 good goalies. The attack is filled with proven goal scorers. The wing back positions are taking care off, it is only the midfield and centre defense that is a cause for concern. Im grateful that coach rohr was brave enough to hand a late call up to Anthony izu for the friendly games but I believe he did that not because he had him in mind but because situations prompt him to do so. If other defenders such as ajayi or omerua had been available, Anthony may not have had this opportunity. But the coach should still receive some kudos for calling a player from the Slovakian league. I just hope Anthony can give us something to think about when he makes his debut. I also want to look at the midfield of the super eagles. We have been able to piece together a presentable midfield which comprises of decent players.e.g. ndidi, etebo, iwobi, aribo. These 4 are the best the team has to offer in midfield. If for any reason any two are not available, then they will be a big problem in the team. We saw it when ndidi was injured, we gave up a 4 goal lead and almost lost the match. We struggled in subsequent matches. The coach is yet to get capable backups for these players. Who knows, maybe he is waiting for the switch of some players to go through. There is no time for that. We need to look inward and discover players who can do the job and fill any gap in the midfield of the team. We have midfielders who are doing very well for their teams the only issue is the league they play in.
ALHASSAN YUSUF IS SUCH A PLAYER. HE HAS BEEN COMPARED TO NGOLO KANTE BECAUSE OF HIS WORK RATE AND ABILITY. A TIRELESS PLAYER WHO POSSESS DEFENSIVE AND CREATIVE ABILITY. GOOD PACE, GOOD PASSES, CLEAN TACKLES. HE IS EXACTLY WHAT THE SUPER EAGLES NEED. BUT DONT TAKE MY WORD FOR IT. WATCH HIS CLIPS ON YOUTUBE. “ALHASSAN YUSUF TECHNICAL ELEGANCE 2021” You wont be able to deny that he is talented and he will add something to the team. But will he be given a chance in the team or will we be left wondering what might have been if he was in the team. I will keep calling the names of players who are doing very well even in their modest clubs and leagues. I did it for chidera ejuke and he got called up even though he was used sparingly. I did for Abraham marcus and he has been given a chance to play in the team. And hopefully one day Alhassan yusuf, obinna nwobodo will also be given a chance to play in the super eagles.

Nice submission Sportsfan, i will also like to advocate for the inclusion of Goal keeper Alampasu in place of Noble because i will not be forced to believe Noble is better than him. I also hope the coach will play the newly invited players. Nwobodo, Alhassan and Nwakali remains an asset on the wait. We shouldn’t forget this guys!

    • I went through alhassan’s clip…wow the guy is good…good close control skills…good pace…good shot…he can dribble effortlessly….very energetic and dynamic….I bet you that guy is going to be in a top5 league in no distant time….I know talent when I see it….He is also young….He should move to the french league first so he can showcase himself to the world…. Reminds of Kante

Alhassan is the new kid on the block!
But he has to leave IFK Gothenburg for a top5 club in either Germany or France…

    • I agree with you @abdul but sometimes playing for your national team can be a platform that will help showcase a players talents to the world and cause big teams to come for their signature.
