Super Eagles’ Rating Player-By-Player In Win Over Cape Verde

Following the Super Eagles 2-1 win over the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde in Tuesday’s 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixture. Completesports.com’s ADEBOYE AMOSU

appraises the performance of the players…

MADUKA OKOYE 6/10
The Sparta Rotterdam goalkeeper didn’t have much to do in the game. He could however have done better with Cape Verde’s goal.

SHEHU ABDULLAHI 4/10
Struggled defensively and didn’t contribute much to the team’s attack.

KENNETH OMERUO 7/10
A rock at the back. Stood up to the challenge of the Cape Verdeans and was one of Nigeria’s top performers in the game. Booked for a rash tackle late on.

CHIDOZIE AWAZIEM 7/10
Formed a perfect partnership with Kenneth Omeruo at the heart of the Super Eagles defence. A solid display from the Boavista man.

JAMILU COLLINS 7/10
A man of the match display from the FC Paderborn defender. Collins provided the cross which led to the first goal and was impressive all through.

INNOCENT BONNKE 6/10
Put up an above average performance on his debut for the Super Eagles. Helped shield the defence well, though didn’t offer much going forward.

KINGSLEY MICHAEL 5/10
Struggled to cope with the pace of the game in the first half, but improved after the break.

AHMED MUSA 4/10
Gave possession away too cheapily a couple of times. The captain was replaced by Terem Moffi in the second half.

MOSES SIMON 5/10
Not a good performance from the winger. He will need to improve on his crosses and show more consistency.

CHIDERA EJUKE 8/10
A lively display from the CSKA Moscow winger. Grabbed his chance well and clearly have a future in the team.

VICTOR OSIMHEN 8/10
Showed great alertness for his goal and led the attack well.

SUBSTITUTES

HENRY ONYEKURU 4/10
Had a chance to score few minutes after his introduction. A lively cameo from the winger.

TEREM MOFFI 3/10
Didn’t do too much following his introduction.

PAUL ONUACHU 3/10
Took the place of Victor Osimhen in the 83rd minute. Had a shot blocked late on.

Kingsley Michael: 5? I dont think we watched the same game? Michael was fantastic in the midfield….7 atleast

Completesports is it the match I watched you guys also watched? How can your so dumbed raters rated this new gem (kingsley michael), this low and even saying that he struggled from the beginning of the game?
I don’t have una time for now!

Congratulation to super eagles, you guys were so super this evening mehn!
Congratulation to gernot rohr. The qualifiers’ “perfectionist”.
I predicted 2:1 and it came perfectly. Well in the favour of super eagles.

I have Personally seen another midfielder for the super eagles in the name of kingsley michael. He had always been sent on loan by his parents club Bologna but this season, they decided to keep and registered him with the first team members in serieA and that alone tells that the boy has come of age.

I love the way he handled our midfield and made me almost forgetten the fact that ndidi and aribo were not around. Michael A.K A KAKA trigger really impressed me guys. He is the player who impressed me the most as I had already known what osimehn, ejuke, awaziem and Henry could do even before the match.

Guys! I no know if una dey see wetin I dey see fa! I had never believed in this guy called simon moses fa! Apart of the fact that he always trackback to help the RB to me, the guy has nothing special for long I have really studied him. Even whenever simon dribbles his end product is awful. He may be playing well for his club Nantes but for super eagles so far ? No! No!! No!!! To me,NO! Moses simon guy to me has no complete compendium of purpose guys!

Musa well done! You have really done well but it is becoming obvious that the energy is not really there anymore. I love you because you had really made me proud of being a staunch super eagles fan…but I foresee that it is about time your no. 7 be given to Lookman when he finally arrived.

Thank you so much ahmed musa. Hopefully, you can still carry on till the next world cup in Qatar.

Michael, continue your growth and improvement I love your football artistry…all the best.

Musa should retire honourably before the nations cup.Im sure he would make the team to the nations cup not because he merit it but because he’s the captain the one most revered which is not fair on younger and better talent who should rightfully take his place.

Rating bonke ahead of Michael made a mess of your work. Whether you watched back of TV.

  • Walking 3 years ago

    Without been bias.
    The midfield was a flop.

Too many spaces for the sharks to operate.
I don’t have hard feelings to the new guys but, they were not convincing.

    • It is so clear that you didn’t watch the match

Lol@akp…. Some people just come here to test run their data…lol

I don’t normally like to insult people on a soccer forum but you are as blind as a bat and definitely didn’t watch that match. If you singled out Bonke maybe but not Kingsley Michael

  • Omo9ja 3 years ago

    VICTOR OSIMHEN 8/10
Showed great alertness for his goal and led the attack well?

I don’t think so. He tried his best but he deserved 6/10 because he didn’t get supplies from the midfield. How many shots did we have on target?

    KINGSLEY MICHAEL 5/10?
Struggled to cope with the pace of the game in the first half, but improved after the break.

    While

    INNOCENT BONNKE 6/10
Put up an above average performance on his debut for the Super Eagles. Helped shield the defence well, though didn’t offer much going forward?

Did you watch that match CSN ba? That Bonnke is not a Super Eagles material.

Oga Rohr is very funny. Leaving out Nwakali and Nwobodo and INNOCENT BONNKE is the best right?

For the whole match, how many shots did we have on target? May be 2 or three.

Once again we’re lucky and we should thank God for the victory.

    The midfield still not okay.

You can do much better than this CSN. God bless Nigeria!!!

Complete Sports has Vindicated my verdicts on Musa and the Goal keeper, Awaziem was also suspectible for the error leading to the first goal as he lost concentration on the striker even after making late efforts his defensive block was not fantastic enough to shield the goalkeeper who was just useless at that point other than these loop holes it was a job done 3points achieved October is another chance to improve the team. For now like all meaningful and well-wishing Nigerians I’m having a good day on the back of this Victory.

    • Dennis 3 years ago

Chima Okoye is not the best we have in the country as Goalie and Awaziem is fringe like Nacho of Madrid just to do the dirty jobs yes he was guilty of loss of concentration as we all know is his weakness but who cares he did a great job after the mistake. Musa is occupying political slot which is a typical example of injustice going on in the country today but na who we go blame Baba?

    • Oakfield 3 years ago

Lol…. Chei…. Easy on that guy abeg. He suffering from a serious personality disorder… Lol

Sir this is a public forum I believe you have not lost your manners. People are here discussing sports so stop the hate speech and be civilized. Nothing justifies your actions the forum is not for Thugs.

Hahahahaha……even the draw, they never gave the team a chance to get it. Immediately they read that Egypt sacked their coach for drawing Gabon they have been praying we dont get more than a draw also so they can have basis to resonate their rants for Rohr’s dismissal. See as God shame all of them this night…..LMAOOOo. See humble pies choke them sotey dem nor fit rant like usual….LMAOooo…all of them have been commenting with hushed tones and humility so far…..LMAOOoooo. God has denied evil people the happiness they were desperate to have in their miserable lives….LMAOOOO

    • Footballfanatic 3 years ago

Are you crazy??? Awaziem suspect for the first goal? Wowwww Moses Simon was the one trying to chase the goalscorer and where was Shehu who completely lost his man and the bad positioning of Okoye. Man you need to just shut it if you have nothing constructive to say.

      • Chima E Samuels 3 years ago

@Football fanatic Awaziem and Shehu where the culprit alongside Okoye who was badly placed and didn’t do enough to cover his goal post. I am not an Hater of anyone but I also have my views like everyone. Owngoal also gave Awaz as their MoM but I also have my own ideas. I hope we learn to live in a civilize environment where we should respect each others opinion without trying to be nasty at any given time.

        • Footballfanatic 3 years ago

Awaziem has no culpability in that first goal at all you need to stop this if you really watched the match the closest players to that first goal were Moses Simon, Shehu who was not even where he was supposed to which was why Moses was the one chasing the player and then Omeruo. Awaziem was all the way on the otherside by Colling. You can’t be serious with this one. Kinda obvious you didn’t watch it maybe you should watch the highlights again..

        • Ayphillydegreat 3 years ago

You see how the cow brain is disgracing himself??? Awaziem who was on the left side of defense by Collins is the culprit of the first goal that came all the way from the right side of defense Lmao!!! Onye ara of the highest order. Where was Shehu in the first place and how did Simon leave his man with such space??? Even though I think the dude was offside. Inept officiating is our problem in Africa and we should’ve had a penalty. Thank goodness VAR will be available in Cameroon for the AFCON. Miserable nincompoop was struggling to see the game from a viewing station in Kumasi Ghana and can’t decipher who is on the pitch. Ashole claiming to be living a miserable luxury life yet couldn’t afford to stream an ordinary televised match. Lmao!!!

Hahahahaha…even when the obvious has been pointed out to the drunkard…he is still sticking to his lie…..LMAOOoo. The quantity of lie in some people’s blood is more than the quantity of water present…..LMAOOooo. The arrogant pauper no see the 1st goal clearly from the hole in the wall of the viewing centre where he was peeping to watch the game…..LMAOOoo

It doesn’t come as a surprise to me that the aforementioned guys trying to corrupt my sense of judgement and reason like the naive majority is coming from the usual disgusting Anonymous users, using unreal names to disrespect and demean well users. Complete Sports is to blame for the misregulation of this forum and I’m calling for proper regulation of this forum before a section of readers quit reasoning here if the page is not purged from unreasonable and disrespectful fellows who continually force a Convo from time to time.

    • Dr. Drey 3 years ago

CSN needs to purge people whose car consumes $100 worth of petrol in less than a week first…….LMAOOOO.
They need to purge chronic lying animals like you and your fellow liars and cheats of this forum first, for sanity to prevail…..LMAOOo

  • Chairmanfemi 3 years ago

Innocent 6 and Micheal 5??? Fear God CSN! Haba! Very poor analysis.

Next to Ejuke, Micheal was the Rare gem we discovered in that game. Massive Midfielder. Shows why Bologna decided to keep him this season. Wow!
Naija-made Aribo. The guy was just superb yesterday

  • This is proof that Nigerians watch football differently.

Shehu 4, KINGSLEY MICHAEL 5 What a joke. Anyone who truly digested the match will know that going by the strength and strategy of the Cape Verdians, these 2 should be rated way higher. They fought the cape verdians.

  • TUNDE 3 years ago

My joy is d good performance of CHIDERA EJUKE. This guy is LIVELY on d field. I will like to be seeing this guy regularly in the team.
