Super Eagles Set To Return To Abuja As Contractors Handover MKO Abiola Stadium

The Super Eagles may now play their subsequent home games at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja following the completion of renovation works at the ground, reports Completesports.com.

Sports minister Sunday Dare confirmed that the rehabilitation work at the mainbowl of the multi-event stadium including the regrassing of the football pitch and installation of two new brand Digital Electronic Scoreboards have been completed.

“It is my wish that the Super Eagles and indeed the national teams of Nigeria, like elsewhere, have a permanent venue to play their matches than playing from one place to another,” Dare said on Thursday while speaking to State House Correspondents during the Weekly Special Briefings coordinated by the Presidential Communications Team at Presidential Villa, Abuja.

“There are great benefits for countries’ national teams to have a particular venue where the players understand very well. I believe very soon the Super Eagles will be playing their matches in Abuja or Lagos if the national stadium is fully ready too”.

“The good news is that by next month the contractors handling the MKO Abiola Stadium will hand it over to the ministry “.

The SuperEagles have recently adopted the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos as their home ground.

Nice one. But as Nigeria factor I hope it will not run down after two years.

The best news. Balogun Stadium was a shame. Two to go. 1) Bring in the young Goalkeeper playing in Isreal.2) Bring in the 19 years old Amoo who is currently better than Messi. Do these 2 things. Then, Nigeria could stand a chance of beating Egypt in January 2022. Rohr or no Rohr.
