Super Eagles Train In The Dark Tuesday At MKO Stadium Abuja

Twenty-one Super Eagles players trained Tuesday night inside a dark Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja amidst grumbling by some of the players, Completesports.com reports.

All the invited players, except SSC Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Zaidu Sanusi who were yet to arrive in the camp at that time, trained from 5.30 pm to 7 pm at the stadium’s main bowl. TheSuper Eagles had intended to train for two hours but had to cut it short when visibility became impossible at 7 pm

Media aide to the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Kola Daniel, explained that the no-light situation was due to the vandalization of the electricity cable feeding the stadium.

“We got reports that some hoodlums vandalized the cables supply light into the stadium complex on Monday. That is why darkness enveloped the main bowl forcing the Super Eagles to do the last few minutes of their training in the dark,” Daniel told Completesports.com at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium.

“Hopefully, this will not happen again as the officers responsible for the stadium facilities are working round the clock to restore electricity to the complex. We shall also ensure that the generator powering the main bowl functions all through tomorrow for the AFCON qualifying match and Super Eagles training.”

Meanwhile, the development shocked the players who wondered why they should be subjected to such shame. One of them told Completesports.com that this was the height of incompetence as there should have been an alternative measure.

“It is very sad. I don’t know why the country’s national stadium should be in darkness. What about the generator? I hope it doesn’t happen again. It’s a national embarrassment, ” one of the players said on the phone.

National stadium for that matter. So so foolish excuses.
    Nigeria is a failed state.

    • What do you expect from a country that fraudulently elected a shaking old man to lead 200million souls and some youths even aligning with such just because of tribe……I only wonder what will be going on in the minds of the foreign born players during the training session.

    • What do you expect from a nation that fraudulently elected a shaking old man to lead 200million bright minds in this 21st century and some blind youth aligning with such a evil act…….I only wonder what will be going on in the minds of the foreign born players during the training session.

Hahahahaha it not the first time it has happened before.

  • Power cut in Nigeria is no sensation. Super Eagles know that Many of them gree up here.

    • So as it is not a sensation we should continue like this and accept mediocrity?…….Words like this coming from our youth who are supposedly the future of this country tells you alot about the state of the nation.

    • So as it is not a sensation we should swim in it,showcase it to world, and accept midiocrity?…… words like this coming from our youths who are the supposedly leaders of tomorrow tells you alot about the Hope of this country.

Agent of Doom indeed.at time when u look at the aura covering the Nigerian teams of nowadays u wil bite ur tongue. The prophecy I gave is. Just to inform the team that they shud take charge of their defense. If everyone is telling this guys dat they are good to win that is when they disappoint.we can not all be on the same page .
Even with the present draw 0 0 situation.i know some coaches that will use it as an advantage. I no Siasia in those days. I no onigbinde of those days but this premiership coaches we have now don’t have the tortoise brain of those days . I remembered Zambia came here to get a draw but d return leg dey wil never forget wat happened to Dem . with siaone so not to talk of Ghana in the 90’s after getting a draw here .the first goal that was scored by the Nigerian team silence the stadium which rattle the opponent plan.
Now if the guinea have scored here dat would have given Dem an edge .now the Nigerian team only need to plan to hold themselves in the game and use one or two breaks to silence them in Conakry.but wil dey do this . instead they wil be attacking and attacking like sheep without a shepherd until when the referee himself wil turn the game against Dem to favour the host . .
