Sutton: Iheanacho Can Be Leicester City’s Key Star

Former Chelsea striker Chris Sutton believes Kelechi Iheanacho can be Leicester City’s key player, reports Completesports.com.

Iheanacho has been in the form of his career in recent weeks while helping Leicester to strengthen their grip on a top four position.

The Nigeria international not only scored in a third Premier League match in a row, but also netted his first Premier League hat trick of his career in the 5-0 win over Sheffield United on Sunday.

It means that the striker has now scored five goals in his last three appearances after scoring against Burnley and Brighton.

”I have to say, he was unplayable at times [against Sheffield United],” Sutton told BBC Five Live Football Daily.

“And I’m not just talking about his goals, but his link-up, his understanding with Vardy and Perez. And this is probably what he needed, a run of games to really kick him into life.

“And that certainly bodes well for Brendan Rodgers and for Leicester City because he may be the one now.

“Vardy is going to go – eventually he’s going to be too old, and he is irreplaceable.

“But he [Iheanacho] has done himself the world of good with his performances of late, and maybe there’s something now in Brendan Rodgers’ mind where he thinks ‘I absolutely can trust him.’’

His late mother is watching over him now. Iheanacho will deliver for his Club & Country. God shall make him “the King of Nigeria football” in the next World Cup.
