Bayer Leverkusen winger Nathan Tella is desperate to wear the green and white shirt of Nigeria again.
Tella was handed his maiden invitation by former Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe in November, 2023.
The 25-year-old made his Super Eagles’s debut in the 1-1 draw with the Warriors of Zimbabwe.
The former Southampton star has however not been called up by the West Africans since then.

Tella is however looking forward to playing for the three-time African champions again.
“Of course, it’s an honour to represent your country, but I have to play here more to get the recognition to play with the country,”he told Oma Sports TV.
” I think it’s all about the right
steps, keep getting better, keep improving and if I continue to do the right things, I hope Nigeria will call me back.”
